The crowd at Donald Trump’s political rally in Nevada today called for former president Barack Obama to be “locked up”, echoing Mr Trump’s claim that his predecessor illegally “spied” on his campaign.

Obama led the most corrupt administration in American history. Him and his minions need to answer for their wrongdoing.

There was a lot more to the 1950's than gender roles and segregation. McCarthyism was another terrible thing to come out of that decade.

Isn't it strange for an incoming POTUS to still be dwelling on the actions of his predecessor 4 yrs into a term when he himself has been investigated by various agencies a record number of times for corruption ?

Well, the dems are pretending that Obama did most or all the work for anything good the Trumpet does, like the recent peace treaties.

Yeah, if you created your tribe through common hatred of an enemy (the elite) it's difficult to maintain that tribe once you yourself are the elite. So rather than dwelling on the elite status, you try to personalize it - the problem wasn't the elite, but that it was Obama. - now you can be the elite, and maintain your tribe, because your enemy is defined as a person.

The Nazis took power and ghettoised, dispossessed and mistreated jews for a decade before starting to kill them for "secretly destroying the country" - well, at that point, the only people in positions to destroy the country were the Nazi party.

The Nazis blamed the jews for Germany losing WWI so when they started targeting Jews after "Kristallnacht" in 1938 they were whining about something that happened 20 years before.

Its common in a lot of right wing national groups in Europe to obsess over things that happened hundreds of years earlier, Serbian and Hungarian nationalists to this day still commemorate the muslim invasions from something like 700-500 years ago and draw huge crowds.

Good thing no one on the american left are obsessed with wrongs commited hundreds of years ago, eh?
