A New York City police officer has been charged with spying for the Chinese government.He spied on US supporters of the Tibetan independence movement.

Baimadajie Angwang a US citizen from Tibet,worked for China since 2018 in effort to suppress the Tibetan movement.

A complaint filed in Brooklyn federal court says he secretly worked for unnamed handlers from the Chinese consulate of New York.
There is no evidence he ever compromised national security at any time,Angwang has been held without bail at an initial hearing yesterday.

Along with being a police officer Angwang was also a US army reservist with a security clearance.
