I agree but if it was inability it wouldn't be his fault and a doctor wouldn't have allowed him to be president.

The fact it's unwilling makes it so much worse.

Even Machiavelli talks about winning over the lords. The lords in this case aren't actual lords, they're the public because America isn't a princedom, it's a democracy/republic. He's unwanted and attempting to seize power.

We fat-shame Trump fruitlessly, because shaming him has no effect -- Donald J. Trump feels no shame.

Wow, the PC police need to chill out.

If there's any shaming it's for his lack of judgement in food and drink choices, isn't it?
So it's more like cognitive dysfunction shaming, really.

Hm. I suppose shaming for one's intellectual failings is not allowed either.
(But you'd think for the President perhaps it ought to be?)

Some people think it's wrong to make fun of people based on their personal traits.

Racial/ethnic shaming (racist)
Gender shaming (sexist)
Gay shaming (gay phobia)
Trans shaming (trans phobia)
Disability shaming (abelist)
Fat shaming (fat phobia)

I try to keep them consistent

Skinny people gorge on McDonalds and can have high cholesterol and other health problems.
I’m going to mock anyone that eats that much fast food. It’s not healthy.
Since I am also chubby, I can throw stones.Mine isn’t from fast food, but soul food.I haven’t ate a Big Mac in years and hate most fast food.

Donald Trump is behaving exactly like an obsessed ex who refuses to admit that the relationship is over.

And that is scary.

Obsessed and disgruntled exes are known for committing irrational and violent acts long after the other person has moved on to better things.  Here is what to expect from an irrational ex:

1. Delaying the divorce process: During the discovery process, your divorce attorney will request documents from your spouse related to income and assets.  A spouse can stall the process by refusing to respond to such requests.  Or they may send a barrage of requests to you attempting to bog you down in paperwork. This delaying tactic may continue right up to their refusal to sign the divorce papers.

It should be noted that, just as a signature on divorce papers is not necessary for a divorce to occur, America does not need Mr. Trump's concession to swear in Mr. Biden as President.

2. Reneging On Verbal Agreements: Most people going through the divorce process work to make sure it is not riddled with conflict.  In doing so they can make the mistake of believing that their spouse will stand by their verbal agreements.  Such is not the case when agreements are only verbal.

Donald Trump swore an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States.  By delaying and obstructing an orderly transition of power, Mr. Trump is violating the oath he swore in from of the entire nation.

3. Digging Up Dirt: It may seem far-fetched, but vindictive exes are capable of anything.  Even the most innocuous of comments can and will be used against you.  If you keep it clean and refuse to fight "fire with fire" during this time your spouse’s dirty tricks will all be revealed in time.

Donald Trump -- directly and through his proxies -- is seeking evidence to support his claims of alleged fraudulent voting and vote-counting practices.  While it is certain that irregularities have occurred, Mr. Trump is not going to stop his "investigations" until he has found something, even if it means exaggerating, fabricating, or taking out of context something that will not change the fact that he lost the election.

4. Lies, Lies, and More Lies: If there is any way your ex can discredit you in the eyes of the court, he or she will do it.  You conspired with their relatives to make them look bad at work; you ran up financial debt in their name to destroy their credit; you forced them into addictive drinking and drug use to cope with your cheating and promiscuity; et cetera.

In addition to his false claims of victory in the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump is falsely claiming -- directly and through his proxies -- that the opposition conspired with the Media to cast fraudulent votes against him, and that laws were broken in allowing mailed-in votes to be counted.

Donald Trump has experience as an ex-husband, so why shouldn't he apply this experience to being an ex-president, as well?

Scary, isn't it?

It is not him per se I am afraid it is his ability to get so many people to believe and spread his talking points. Despite it all, he got 47 percent of the people who voted to vote for him. Millions of deranged ex's if you will.

This weekend saw numerous "Stop the Steal" protests. While there were bullying insults the protests remained mostly peaceful a point Trumpers were not shy about pointing out. All Trump has to do is say "the time to stand by and stand down is over" and there is going to be lots of trouble all across the country. All of that "we are not violent like Antifa and Black Lives Matter" will be immediately be forgotten. Trump is hoping the violence and intimidation will keep him for all practical purposes in power despite what the constitution says.

Before I go further not all Trump voters are in his cult. There are two main types of Trump voters the true believers and the lesser of two evils voter. The latter voted for Trump out of fear of next administration. What I have heard over and over including from a number of family members who voted for Trump while he is a dangerous as*hole is that Kamala Harris is going to become President sooner or later and she is going to raise taxes, over-regulate, kiss China's ass, push the "woke" stuff. Make of that what you want but those voters are not going to go over the cliff for Trump. But the true believers if further radicalized could be very disruptive or worse.

A Republic needs trust to survive. What Trump has done to the American republic has similarities to feeding Kryptonite to Superman. Now running out of time Trump is giving whatever remains of the "kryptonite" to America all at once. Will it kill the Republic?

He mocks disabled reporters, calls any woman he doesn't like "fat" and "ugly" and worse, calls anyone he doesn't like "stupid" and "traitor", but somehow he deserves respect that he doesn't even extend to others?

The only reason people are "fat-shaming" him is cos he waddles around bragging about how fit and healthy he is, while calling other people "fat ugly dogs". And, they're not even fat shaming him - they're pointing out the hypocrisy of a supersized chunky munky oompa loompa burger troopa like trump calling other people "fat", when he's not exactly lean prime beef either. But I suppose it makes things look better when you JUST zoom in on the part where trump is being "made fun of", and completely ignore ALL of his behavior, and WHY he might be getting criticism like that.

I believe what's being pointed out is hypocrisy. That those who are proponents of political correctness which comes up with terminology like fat shaming and fat phobia, are ridiculing the president for being fat.

A defence to that could be that he calls people fat and other names, but that's a two wrongs make a right fallacy.

The question is, is okay to mock and discriminate against people based on their appearance? If someone answers "no" then they should not make anyone's appearance an issue. Anyone.

I don’t think the people mocking Trump’s obesity are the same people calling for fat acceptance.

There are many things to dislike about Donald Trump. His fatness should not be one of them.

I also don’t think obesity is usually a real choice. I have gone from underweight to slightly overweight in the past two years. I’m certainly healthier now, but my weight gain isn’t due to a change in decisions, but due to changes in lifestyle (office job instead of working on my feet), natural changes in my metabolism (mid-20s slowdown) and, most importantly, medication that stimulates my appetite.

When my appetite is stimulated, I don’t have a choice about eating any more than I have a choice about breathing. Even when I’m full, the desire for more food is insatiable. It’s not like normal temptation. Whereas before I could easily go from breakfast to dinner without eating, now after an hour I’m craving food even if I’m not hungry. Stuff my face with fruit helps, but that’s still calories and it still ends up on my waistline.

So the idea that some people might naturally have appetites that are much stronger, or metabolisms that are much slower, and their weight gain is not related to a lack of willpower or poor decisions - it makes a lot of sense. And it’s backed up in the science. People who deliberately restrict their calories to lose weight tend to put that weight back on again in short order. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5764193) I am therefore not inclined to think that people who struggle with obesity should be mocked.
