I believe he's a sensible guy, and will do the right thing.

There are so many lovelorn people around; being lovelorn is almost an inevitable thing.

Next time you're close to her give her a hug and if she smiles give her a kiss and see how she reacts. Don't bother with all this asking her out nonsense. If she enjoys the kiss she might even invite you back to hers soon. After that you can decide how to meet up etc etc

Hugs are cool....but I wouldn't advise Accountinglad giving this other person a hug in a place of work. The gesture might be misconstrued in today's atmosphere.
