I receive $500 of SSI and $200 of EBT every month, but am unemployed.

DD Services in Portland is helping me look for part-time employment.

I don't know what SSI is so I presume I don't get it.

I work part time, never have worked full time, although now that I'm in a job I actually like and suits me I may be more prepared to do full time, but it's not really a job where there are full time positions. I clean buses, which only gets to be done certain times of the night, being so the buses are out on the road all day.
I like working late though, because it means I don't have to get up early in the morning like I used to at my previous job.
I know nobody likes getting up early for work especially during the winter months, but for me it was painful to be suddenly awoken by an annoying alarm and have to drag myself out of my warm bed and set off out into the cold. Even when I got to work I still wasn't fully woken up even if I ate (I don't drink coffee), and it made me more prone to depression and anxiety attacks.

SSI in the US is Supplemental Security Income.

I work part time employed by a company for people with disabilities. I do cleaning. I used to work full time before I had kids. Only jobs I ever had were cleaning. I get SSDI, no SSI anymore.

What's the difference between SSI and SSDI. I think the D stands for disability. But why would a disabled person switch from SSDI to simply SSI? Is it an age thing? Are there work restriction differences between the two?

They don't. You normally get SSDI after being on SSI for so long. Then you have to apply for SSDI and they send you to a doctor to get evaluated to see if you qualify.

SSDI is an income that never changes when you work or earn any money. SSI income varies every month if you work and you have to report your earnings every month. With SSDI you have to report your earnings if you make above a certain amount.
