Tanya Roberts, Bond Girl and 'That '70's Show' Star, Dies at 65

Quote:
Tanya Roberts, the actress best known for playing a Bond girl in A View to a Kill and Midge Pinciotti on That '70's Show, has died. She was 65.

The actress collapsed while out walking her dogs on Dec. 24, and was admitted to Cedar-Sinar Hospital in Los Angeles. She died on Sunday her longtime friend and rep Mike Pingel told The Hollywood Reporter. It was not COVID-19 related, no cause of death has been given but Roberts was not ill in the days leading up to her death.

Born Victoria Leigh Blum, Roberts had a career modeling and appearing in television adverts before turning to film acting in 1975 with the horror flick Forced Entry. She had a number of roles in films that would later have a cult following including the 1977 comedy Racquet and the 1982 fantasy epic The Beastmaster. She was also the lead in Columbia Pictures' 1984 adventure movie Sheena: Queen of the Jungle, a female version of the Tarzan story that despite its reported $25 million budget was a huge flop at the box office, though it went on to gain cult status.

Roberts' most notable major film role was in the 1985 Bond film A View to a Kill. The film, which was to be Roger Moore's last outing as 007, saw her play Stacey Sutton, an American geologist who becomes a target of villain Max Zorin played by Christopher Walken.

After A View to a Kill, her other notable film credits were the Roddy Piper-led comedy Body Slam in 1987 and the 1990 erotic thriller Night Eyes.

Her television career ramped up in the 90s just as the movie roles dried up. Modern audiences will remember her for a recurring supporting role in Fox's That '70's Show, in which she played Midge Pinciotti, Donna's dim-witted mother.

She was also on the last season of 'Charlie's Angels'

My how time flies when you realize people born in the 1950s are now in their 60s and those born in 1951 are turning 70 this year. I remember when they were all in their 40s. Now people born in 1980 are already in their 40s. 8O

She was beautiful...wasn’t she once considered for a Charlie’s Angels replacement?

Actress Tanya Roberts is still alive, according to her publicist

Quote:
Actress Tanya Roberts, who was reported by CNN and other media outlets to have died, citing her longtime publicist, Mike Pingel, is still alive, Pingel told CNN Monday.

Pingel said he was notified Sunday evening by Roberts' longtime partner, Lance O'Brien, that Roberts had died.
In a phone call Monday evening, O'Brien told CNN he was distraught after saying goodbye to Roberts at her bedside and left Cedars-Sinai Medical Center believing it would be the last time he saw her.

On Monday morning, O'Brien was notified by the hospital that Roberts is still alive, according to Pingel and O'Brien. They said it was a coincidence that O'Brien was doing an interview with Inside Edition when the hospital called.

Roberts was hospitalized in Los Angeles on December 24, after she collapsed at her California home following a walk with her dogs. She remains in critical condition, according to Pingel and O'Brien

Sorry about that

I am guessing it may have been a heart attack.

At least it wasn't COVID.

But she's still here.

TANYA ROBERTS DEAD AT 65 ... After Bizarre Premature Death Pronouncement

Quote:
Tanya Roberts died Monday night at L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Hospital following a bizarre turn of events that included her domestic partner incorrectly telling her rep she had died the day before.

Her partner, Lance O'Brien, tells TMZ ... he got a call from one of Tanya's doctor's Monday night, just after 9 PM, telling him Tanya had passed.

Tanya will be remembered for much more than her bizarre final hours -- she will truly be remembered for her long and successful career as a model and actress.

If this was in a movie, the critics would criticize a ludicrous plot twist!
Perhaps dying was a mercy after all, if her health would never have been the same afterwards if she recovered.
RIP

Did they do this with Abe Vigoda?
