The films of the 1930’s and 1940’s;
Those women were individuals.
I cannot tell the current crop of blondes apart!

Suprising fact: We are not the only nation to have something like the capitol riot.

France in 2015: https://www.thelocal.fr/20150715/300-ar ... in-france/

Turkey in 2016: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Turk ... at_attempt

Germany in 2020: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7zK8BuKSp4

And on and on.

I particularly liked the way Turkey handled it's insurgents

Are you recommending Biden does the same to the MAGA morons?

Turkey is an Islamic nation.
The Koran (Q’uran?) has specific commands regarding punishments.
One of many reasons that I am glad and grateful to be an American citizen.

Rachel Weiner, reporter for The Washington Post, wrote:
The lawyer for Tommy Webster, retired NYPD cop who beat an MPD officer with flagpole on January 6th, says his client is in a dormitory setting with people serving time for inner-city crimes -- "for a middle aged guy whose never been arrested before this has been a shock for him".
Richard Brennan, CBS reporter, wrote:
54-year-old Thomas Webster is a former NYPD officer and Marine, but authorities say on Jan. 6, during the Capitol riot, he was "like a junkyard dog, teeth bared, fists clenched."  Prosecutors say that he "attacked a police officer with an aluminum pole and ripped off his protective gear and gas mask, causing the officer to choke."
Let me get this straight ... one of Trump's mad dogs attacked a cop during the January 6th coup attempt, and now he is "shocked" to be in jail with 30 or so urban street punks, drug dealers, pimps, and common thugs?!

What did he expect; that he could storm the U.S. Capitol, openly engage in a violent coup attempt, beat up a cop, go home, take a shower, and brag about his exploits to his buddies while playing on-line video games all night?

Doesn’t it seem like these people really, really believed that there would be no arrests, no charges, no trials, no punishments?
Didn’t they seem to think that they were
Somehow winning a battle of some sort?
Being victorious in some way?

This seems to be a relic of the Dick Cheney era, when the people who overthrew Saddam Hussein's government were expected to be viewed as "Liberators" instead of criminals.

The coup organizers also expected the U.S. military to mobilize and take part, not just in Washington, D.C., but in every state capital around the country.  They also expected the National Guard and the local police to aid and assist them, and accused any police officer who did not support them of being a "traitor", when it was actually the MAGA / Proud Boys / QAnon / Trumpster / WLM participants in the attempted coup who were the real traitors.

Agreed.  He was the embodiment of everything they wish they could be -- wealthy, rude, crude, and so much in power they no one could touch him.  He also pandered to their existential fear of being "erased and replaced" by college graduates, liberals, women, immigrants, non-whites, and Queerfolk.

Where is "The Donald"?  Where are his loyal supporters?  Where are those people who engaged in the coup attempt?

America goes on as social evolution advances.

We'd like to think they all just crawled back under the rocks they came out from underneath.. but trump and the republican party are still playing these fools. There're tens of Millions of them still drinking the kool aid waiting for the next election(s) to try to steer the USA further into the direction of a white supremacist fascist/oligarch state, Western Democracy be damned.

Can't assume that just because Biden/Harris narrowly won the election that the threat these people pose has been neutralized.

If you Google ‘Trump t-shirt’ you will be amazed how many sites are selling ‘Trump 2024’ shirts!
Apparently, there ARE many supporters/ followers who expect/intend a presidential campaign in 3 years!

A lot of things may happen in the next 3 years.

• Trump may go to jail.

• Trump may decide to not run.

• Trump may not have enough money to launch a viable campaign.

• Another Republican may become more popular.

• Another Democrat may become even more popular.

• Overweight alpha males in their mid-seventies do not live forever, either...
