Actually, I belong to only one planet: Earth, and no other.

The same ways any other unsupported belief is rationalized, usually by Appeal to Popularity.

My daughter's quote of the day: "Politics is like Astrology for cis white men - always categorising people into groups".

Based on my birthday I'm a Scorpio so my ruling planet would be Pluto which is what I voted for but the description does not fit me that well in some ways. Based on the descriptions Capricorn & ruling planet Saturn would fit me the best. & I would guess that Libra & ruling planet Venus would fit me 2nd best. My girlfriend is Cancer with ruling planet The Moon based on her birthday & that description does fit her the best.

Because Astrology is not a science, and hence is not to be taken seriously.

True, in their earliest form -- thousands of years ago -- astrology and astronomy were one and the same; but whereas astronomy diverged from astrology to evolve into the science it is today, astrology still relies on superstition and tradition to maintain its presence in today's more enlightened society.

Still, astrology if fun to play around with, and it makes for an easy way to make a modest living by providing seekers with something for which they will pay good money, and if you remember that there is a seeker born every minute.

My zodiac was failed to account for the obese maternity nurse who was pacing back and forth or the jaundice crib. Clearly based on proximity those would have had much more impact than any planets.

The main "influence" would gravity.

Hmmmm.... which had more "influence" upon me the moment I was born?

The planet Mercury? Or the obstetrician standing next to mom?

Using Newton's inverse square law calculate which body had more gravitational effect on my baby self- the body of Mercury, or the body of the obstetrician.

Might be a good math problem for a high school math teacher to pose.
