Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in England, constructed so that the rising sun, seen from the center of the monument at the time of the summer solstice, aligns with the outer "Heel Stone."

In New York, the original architects created a similar construct in aligning the streets east and west.

High-rise buildings lining the east-west streets of Manhatten form a modern Stonehenge. Neil deGrasse Tyson has coined the term "Manhattenhenge" to describe annual sunrises and sunsets, which attract thousands of tourists to spots like 42nd Street. Now the Moon has joined the show, too.

a lemon slice
floating in the night sky
scrapers metallix magnificent
modern man paying homage
to the ancient ancestors
lost knowledge
lost on us
modern spiritual neanderthals
we lose ourselves
admiring vainly our own reflections
as if we made ourselves?!...
losing our true nature
long gone
at best
we mimic the wisdom lost
now forever unknown
to a time
that has long gone

woe is mankind
woe is our ignorance
foolish we are
to think
we can save ourselves
building
towers of babel
to hide
our sins behind

so we build up and out
instead of within

....

still.... cool photo
and dont get me wrong
the architecture is awesome too

...

hmmm
anyone fancy a long island ice tea?...
