Going to be honest, this is way bigger than Dr. Phil. There are all kinds of mental health providers setting up shop, schools being created, and profiting off of the so-called psychopathology of children labeling them constantly, medicating them, and giving them "eclectic" treatments. There is no real regulation of the mental health industry. There is an assumption that mental health providers will give sound guidance and offer evidence-based treatment, um no, once they are licensed they do whatever they want. Its disgusting.

It’s the opposite in the UK for mental health where people are dumped in a corner or dopped up on pills to shut them up.

There needs to be a middle ground to help people while weeding out the scammers and harmful practices.

^ IMO most homeless drug addicts live better than those in institutions. Trouble is the 'in your face' nature of scruffy drug users everywhere reduces sympathy.

Yes the camps predate Dr Phil and have roots going back centuries to Bedlam and the Magdeline Laundries.

Also disturbing is the similarity to Native Residential Schools.

btw there is even less regulation of these camps than usual for the mental health industry, as they are private businesses serving those with less than full human rights [minors]

I have not seen any regulation of the mental health industry schools included, maybe the medical aspect ie psychiatry but psychologists, social worker, and the like? Nothing.

Im not sure if you are suggesting the camps should have their own thread?

probably a good idea, but for now Ill leave this here.

Eva Carlston Academy is somehow getting bad google reviews deleted. by somehow I mean probably paying skilled hackers or bribing google. Or maybe they got lucky and fooled google, because the bad reviews sound too bad to be true?

I found a month old Reddit thread claiming all the bad reviews had been deleted, and now there are plenty of bad reviews, none older than the reddit thread..

https://www.reddit.com/r/troubledteens/ ... y_reviews/

I gave up on Dr Phil a long time ago. He has a history of giving questionable advice even going back to when he was on the Oprah show in the '90's.
