We may soon be in ‘grave danger’ from China with Biden in charge: Bolt

Since Joe Biden replaced Donald Trump as president of the United States, China has “stepped up” what it seems are “preparations for war,” according to Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“It’s almost as if it smells a weakness,” Mr Bolt said.

“Yesterday President Xi told his military: be prepared for ‘complex and difficult’ situations”.

“Last week his defence minister said China must comprehensively improve military training and preparedness for battle”.

“The great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is at a critical stage.”

To ignore these warnings and “dismiss them as just bluster” would be a “very big mistake”, according to Mr Bolt.

“In six years there could be a war just to our north. China versus Taiwan, possibly with the US,” he said.

“Do we look remotely ready for any war?

“You might ask, why would China think that Joe Biden is too weak for them to worry much about?

“And I’d say to you, you are talking about what you can see too – a very old man who cannot even remember the name of his own defence secretary.”

Mr Bolt said Donald Trump was replaced by a president who “China figures is much much weaker”.

“And the result: we may soon be in very grave danger.”

Just happened to be reading this.

https://townhall.com/columnists/kurtsch ... n-n2586372

Let’s understand something – the military has been running on empty for a long time. Thirty years ago right now, I was in Saudi Arabia in the wake of the Gulf War, the high point of American power. The military was rebuilt by visionaries who embraced high standards and focused on warfighting rebuilt the devastated post-Vietnam military and proved the concept in those sands by annihilating a relatively powerful nation’s entire force in six weeks of air war and 100 hours of ground war. We were not woke. We were not politically correct. We were just unbeatable.

Fast forward to 2021, as our military is are still chasing bandits around the Hindu Kush, as our forces still in Iraq are still getting rocketed and as we are still pouring troops into Syria for some damn reason. The Chinese are eating our lunch in the Western Pacific, but our military leadership pretend it’s 1945 and that the U.S. is still dominant. It thinks we’re unbeatable, but there’s no Chester Nimitz out there, and the Chinese are deadly serious, even as our leadership pretends boys can become girls and that paying for their snip surgery will make us more combat-ready.

When the Chinese choose to do it, they will take Taiwan. They will screen their flanks by wiping out our regional bases and they will sink every U.S. ship within range that hasn’t already been knocked out of action by colliding with a cargo boat. By the way, read the investigation of the utter incompetence and total failure of leadership that led to those two devastating and fatal collisions in recent years. Sickening – a total failure of leadership starting at the top.

Pretty damning description of the US armed forces. Not that the UK's is in much better shape.

Sky News Australia is also owned by News Corp so they're exactly like Fox News.

Is Andrew Bolt a credible reporter or is he just Australia's Sean Hannity?

Ah I did not know that, kind of explains their reporting style. Or could be even worse like Australia's Tucker Carlson.

I'm not sure if Joe Biden could be a weaker president towards China than Donald Trump even if he spent 24/7 deliberately trying to do so.

Prior to the Trump presidency, China was facing a somewhat unified Western world with the US as its leader.

After the Trump presidency, China is facing a Western world so fragmented that the concept of the "Western world" may soon no longer have any meaning.

But better than Australia’s Alex Jones?

This.

Trump was the first and only post WWII POTUS hellbent on destroying America's alliances. He also wanted to dismantle America's military presence in the Western Pacific, and claimed to not understand why we had troops in South Korea.

Biden might be like herpes on this issue, but even herpes is a step up from syphlis (Trump).

Biden might be penny foolish (not spend enough on defense), but at least he is pound wise (maintains our alliances). Trump was penny wise and pound foolish. Trump did spend alot on the military (though not much on helping veterans).

Trump did suck up to Vietnam at the east Asian summit (a good thing to do). An odd moment of both sanity and of continuity with Obama (who gave an eloquent speech praising Vietnam's heritage when he visited Vietnam years before that).

In the coming Indo Pacific chess game Vietnam will be a key piece on the board that America (and Australia) will need as at least a frenemy if not an actual ally against China.

Looks like neocon propaganda that is present on both sides of politics.

China is no angel but much of the world is sick of US aggression and imperialism.

Trump allowed the mask to slip with his America First slogan.

It was always America First which is ok if your in a particular class of US citizen not in your interests if you live in another part of the world.

Most of the world is waking up to that fact.

China's 'aggression' and 'push for global power' is no secret

Sky News host Rita Panahi says China's "aggression" and push for global power is not "a secret".

"They're quite open about their global ambitions and their desire to influence and have greater power," Ms Panahi said.

"And of course we know about the threat they pose to Taiwan, we know about what's been happening in Hong Kong".
