Mine has to do with a concept I had in mind when I joined the forum. It has often occurred to me that I could have been spared the intense loneliness that I feel, and the accompanying depression, had people in my life spent an occasional ten minutes with me, or even just taking seriously something I suggest.

If we have a shared interest and I recommend an eight minute youtube video, all you have to do to make me feel like I'm part of your life is watch the damned thing.

You spent all of Thursday evening with a shared acquaintance. You spent all of Friday evening with another shared acquaintance. Saturday I just asked how the latter went, and you told me you didn't have time to tell me about it. I'm not asking for a transcript. Can you at least see the disparity in the time you are willing to give the people in your life? Ya think I might not be flattered?

I picked you up from work in the middle of the night when your ride unexpectedly couldn't make it. Twice. Can you understand my irritation that you haven't found a few minutes to speak to a shared acquaintance on my behalf?

"I didn't have time," only works a few times before I conclude you couldn't care less about me, no matter what else you say to the contrary.

That's what TenMinutes means. Ten Minutes isn't too much to ask, if you insist we are friends. I would give you ten minutes right now, almost regardless what I'm doing, if you ask. I'd do that for a complete stranger, if they need it. But nobody will do that for me.

Nothing.

Just pure egoism.
Yes, even the numbers.

She's a character from Wuthering Heights who gets deceived, held hostage, and abused by a psycho. She kicks ass and escapes to become a single mother.

Pretty much sums it up.

My name doesn't mean anything. I just wanted something anonymous, so I chose the title of a song I really like.

Well it means that I am from Texas and I am very proud of Texas and I am a Texas man and also that i am very interested in money and how it works and all sorts of things concerning the concept of a medium of exchange. Its also a reference to the history of my homeland. Also i got the idea from money man from a financial podcast from a financial advisor but I changed the wording of it.

I wanted something pretty and "North wind" was already taken, so I just tried to come up with something similiar... you know, something nature related.

Max Eisenhardt, one of the 2 names by which Magneto is known when in mufti. Magneto was taken. Also has some family significance.

Mine's just the title of a song I like by a band called Eater. The name seemed appropriate for an autism forum too.

Mine is a result of poor planning.

I went in to register for WP with a different name in mind...but it was taken! I had not prepared a "Plan B"! I improvised...and that was taken, too! I hurriedly tried other names until "Double Retired" worked; it is a nod to having two former employers who now consider me to be one of their retirees.

All of the names were on the theme of retirement. I am so much happier now that I am retired! I shed a lot of stress when I did that. Getting to two retirements added stress. I am so much happier now!

Dear, if you are reading this, marrying you also made me much happier. But retiring twice is less common than being married so I focused on that.
