I really want to show off my house tbh.

When I mention anything on twitter about houses I get awkward silence.

When I mention it to family they feign interest but that's all.

I feel like it is boring to other people.

Kind of like talking about your dreams.

I remember when mum went through her boring 00s stage of houses and I found it all really boring. She started talking about beige as if it was a colour.

My house isn't like that but still... maybe even maximalist houses are boring if you don't live in them?

I find it quite interesting what mum is doing to her house now esp her studio which is like a children's play room and her 'bird room' study which has a mural on the wall, her own home made mirror and bird wallpaper with the rest all in blue like the sky.

More people than you think are interested in interior decorating, and in the structure of homes.

This is why all those DIY TV shows are so popular.

I believe some people don’t like to be reminded about their ineptitude in DIY stuff; maybe this is why they don’t like talking about decor.

I had zero interest til I moved out.

My mum goes through waves of being interested and not interested depending on what she's doing.

I think it might be like your own dreams are interesting.

Boring to some people, fascinating to others. Like anything else.

I like talking about decor! Even if I'm not the best at designing hypothetical houses.

I think it depends on the person.

Anyone who likes to do DIY projects would probably love the conversation.

Try Apartmenttherapy.com ! Much better decor website! I used to be into it.
