No, I tried that route, and I'm not cut out for a job in high tech.
Unfortunately the only jobs out there that accept openly autistic people are not aligned with my education and training. I've approached nonprofits that help the developmentally disabled, too. They'd rather help more severe people on the spectrum.
I fell victim to workplace politics, and the drama never stops.

I'd like to see more companies, of all kinds, allow autistic people through their doors, as employees. I tried working at a store I liked and it was a mess. Especially since I had a good experience there as a teenager. It took a lot for me to go back there and try to fit in.

No one is better than anyone else. Unfortunately the world doesn't get that. What is living, anyway?
