@ Everyone: It's interesting how no one so far has made comments on animated movies, so I'll start.

Missing Link and Kubo and the Two Strings were well-crafted animated films worth a watch.


I can't watch computer animation (assuming they are?) ^

Clears throat. Um ... I love George Clooney so I might have to check that out. I'd never heard of it.

I'm not sure about Parasite. Maybe. I don't really like comedies.

"Improvised" doesn't specifically mean "comedy" =)
IIRC, a lot of Waking Life was improvised, but it's not supposed to be a comedy.
Allegedly, the "tears in the rain" speech at the end of Blade Runner was improvised.
Taxi Driver, DeNiro's "you talkin' to me??" monologue.
Dustin Hoffman's "I'M WALKIN' HERE!" from Midnight Cowboy.
The detention scene from The Breakfast Club...
etc. etc.
I could show you a lot of improvised music that isn't funny.

I haven't watched those yet, but I really liked Coraline and ParaNorman.
I don't think I watched The Boxtrolls yet, either.

They're made by Laika, who are a group that specializes in stop-motion animation.

Gone Girl (based on the book of the same name) was an excellent suspense movie that
IMO should have received more attention upon initial release.

If you want to watch a great sci-fi film that will make you think, consider watching
Ex Machina, Looper or Arrival.

As I mentioned before, do consider watching the Planet of the Apes Reboot Trilogy, all three films
are brilliant in their own equal ways.

A biopic that IMO will keep you entertained is The Disaster Artist, which is a biopic about what went wrong in the making of the cult film The Room considered to be one of "the worst movies ever made."

The three Mission Impossible movies that were released in the 2010s were all well-made.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation

Mission Impossible: Fallout

Shazam was a fun comic book movie.
