I'm paying a high price in pain but the all-weather G scale, large scale, Gauge 1, garden railway track is now laid on the balcony.
And speaking of things lying on the balcony, Georgie is too.
And now Grumman kitty joins the party.

At this time they have chased a fly inside, are themselves inside, and the screen is shut.

The expressions on those cats...they're upset because they have no trains to knock over...yet!

The pain is because there are several different neurological, endocrine, mitochondrial things going on, & on top of that several musculoskeletal things happening all over my body from my feet to my hands to my neck.

I seriously want a refund on this body, but since I didn't buy it to begin with, there is no refund!

These are from May 2010 when I had just Grumman; it was June 2010 when Georgie entered our life.
The track here is the Big Hauler set tinplate track; which was totally NOT weather resistant.

(so I painted the ties and the sides of the rails to at least interrupt the environmental effects on those)

I am happy to now have this track which can be just left out there.

And speaking of that, Grumman actually has rolled one over ...

Uh-huh, sure, Grumman, suuuuuuuurrreeee; that locomotive weighs 12 pounds you weigh 9.6, and if the wind blew it over ...

(he, and Georgie, each weigh 11 pounds and change here a decade later)
(Georgie may not yet even have been born when that photo was taken)

As it happens, several years back there was a need to get Grumman shaved, he literally is 1/3 hair.
At 12 years old now he's passed "prime of life" age but when at that age he needed a couple baths for health reasons, had to halfway knock him out with muscle relaxers to even begin to give him a bath, that dude was STRONG!
I've had 8 cats in my life and he had the strength of all them put together plus a couple more!

DC
I removed the simple and cheap sound system from the several Bachmann Big Hauler 4-6-0s, I can't deal with the noise.

Got several boxed Big Hauler sets, an individual Bachmann 4-6-0, & a 2-4-4, and 4-4-0 by Hartland Locomotive Works, back in 2009 from disability settlement back pay, figured that if I was going to have G scale trains then was my chance.

I did not know tinplate rails were available in G scale.

This is that track series, Bachmann's Big Hauler sets come with either a circle or oval of it,

The outdoor track I got was theirs.
Bough it via Walthers in Milwaukee; along with a bunch of HO supplies & an HO 0-6-0, paying for it with some of that recent $1400 stimulus payment you may have seen something about in the international news.

It was out of stock both at Bachmann itself & the other place I've gotten some large scale things in recent years, Reindeer Pass.

Not seen anything about the payment in the news, but the trains look fun!

Thanks to the wonders of modern medication,
We have track power! :D
We have locomotives underway! :D
Georgie chased the orange HLW 'Sparky' around the track for a lap!

Seriously, when you are physically disabled, can't work, live alone, aren't married, have no children, a day like today is a really big deal.
And right now tonight, the track is out on the balcony getting rained on and I'm just tickled with that because the track is made to be rained on!
And snowed on.
And sunshined on.

And this is the first of that kind of train track I've ever had. :D

After “helping me play” large-scale model trains yesterday afternoon, my 2 fuzzy orange fellows are acting pretty content today. :D
And ya know what, even with my body paying the piper today, :( I'm actually pretty content too. :D
