The answering emails job at Cornell...
Maybe it's not my ideal position at the bird lab, but they did mention one of the employee benefits was if your there long enough, you can take classes there for free... And maybe I could get in on other projects?

You don't have the body or brain for your ideal job, do you? So like many others, you should settle for a job you can do. Speaking only for myself, I was underemployed most of my adult years, but maybe I had to be that. When striving for more, I would always crash and burn.

Anyway good luck and keep us posted.

If a company hires you, you might find it easier to internally transfer to a job you want, than as external applicant

You could take the job and keep applying for better jobs
