The good the bad and the weird.
It's an awesome movie.

Not sure if this is quite what you are looking for, but just in case, here is 3 hours 26 minutes of weapons grade locomotive catnip:

Being someone who watches very little TV and movies thanks to my set of the effects of autism, I don't know much about films containing trains, but, I do know of a now-famous train containing film,

Quote:
It's the locomotive that helped jubilant Americans honor Charles Lindbergh.
In June 1927, the Pennsylvania Railroad E6 Atlantic locomotive No. 460 raced from Washington, D.C., to New York City bearing newsreel footage of Calvin Coolidge presenting the famed aviator with a presidential medal of honor on the Capitol steps.
In New York, eager moviehouse audiences were waiting to see that footage, and the No. 460, forever after known as the Lindbergh Engine, got it there in under three hours.

The Titfield Thunderbolt (1953) - Classic British movie in which a couple of drunk men steal a steam engine and drive it through a village before crashing it.

"Ripley's Game" has a long (and rather violent) section set in a train interior. And there was the recent-ish adaption of "Murder on the Orient Express" which had some dramatic exterior shots in addition to the luxurious interior.

Slightly off-topic, but there was a short BBC series called "Indian Hill Railways." There are a handful of places where steam locomotives are still the best solution for getting around. My Dad has them on DVD- while I'm not as train-obsessed as he is, I found them absolutely magical viewing.

There's a charming 1973 movie called Horror Express starring Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and Telly Savalas. It's basically "The Thing" on a train (the Trans Siberian Express). Almost the whole movie takes place on the train. The exterior shots are of an elaborate model that was built for another movie (it seems unclear whether it was Dr Zhivago, Nicholas and Alexander or Pancho Villa) which the producer had acquired.

If you like Hammer Horror style movies check it out.
