What was the weirdest fear you had as a kid? You know what mine was? When I was around 4 years old, I wasn't afraid of nothing. The Dark: nope! Tiny Spiders: nope! Possible monsters underneath my bed: Heck no! I had no fear what so ever as a little kid. But one day I was on my old Windows 95 computer playing games and my mom and dad called me to the living room and when I arrived my dad says "Here! I got you this pink bouncing ball, ready for me to roll it you? Ok here it comes!" and when I saw it, my reaction wasn't "Yay! Let me catch it!" it was "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" I ran towards my mom in complete horror. I was terrified of stupid fricking ball! When I look back at it now as an adult, I think "What was I afraid of?!?!" Anyways that was my weird fear as kid at age 4. Of course I grew out of that fear one year later when I accidentally popped it.

Kittens.
Probably because of that one kitten who refused to get scared and run away when I tried to scare it. I was 4-5.

The fear didn't last.

As a young child, i was afraid of Syrena cars (no idea why :D) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FSO_Syrena
As an older child, I was in turn deathly afraid of poisons, diseases and darkness.

Some of the characters in the British children's TV show PlayDays

Dogs

Conjoined twins and albino people

Fires (except bonfires) and fire drills

The wind

Dolls

Clowns (although a lot of kids are afraid of clowns)

The letter Z (don't ask why  )

My first school

Traditional alarm clocks

OK I could go on forever here, because I was basically afraid of everything as a kid.

I just recalled as a young child of maybe five, I was also very afraid of duck eggs - that's why because I once happened to hear my mom or gran talking about salmonellosis and I understood it in this manner that duck eggs are... covered with some sort of poison 8O

I was afraid that my relatives would abandon and forget me, only to find out that it is not so bad as I thought.

I was scared of balloons when I was about 5 or 6 years old, I wouldn't go past a classroom when they had balloons hanging from the ceiling, and if I was watching children's programs and they had a balloon I would hide behing the lounge chair, thankfully I grew out of being scared of balloons.

I didn't mind identical twins. But one time when I was about 6 my mum showed me a picture in the newspaper of two little girls that were joined together, and I freaked out (as in cried). Then after that I kept thinking I was going to grow another head or something and become my fear.
I'm not scared of conjoined twins now obviously.

Identical twins fascinate me. I wish I had a twin.

The cartoon The Jetsons. I have no idea why, but if was on a tv, I would run from the room. Something about that show unnerved me and gave me the creeps.

I was also disturbed by carwash places, but I think that's common enough for little kids, but maybe not.

The Child Catcher from the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang freaked me out as a kid. But maybe that's not weird considering I was a child

I was terrified of Miss Gulch in The Wizard of Oz. She's the stern woman on the bicycle who puts Toto in a basket. She becomes the Wicked Witch but for years I didn't even know that, because I would freak out and hide behind the freezer chest in the cellar when she took Toto. My parents always shut the TV off at that scene. Since it was television and not DVD we couldn't zoom past it.

It took a long time for me to see more of the movie. Then I had the same meltdowns and panic attacks about the flying monkeys, and shut it off at THAT point.

I think I was an adult before I saw the whole thing. And then it took me even longer to realise it was all a dream, and that the Oz characters were from her real life. I thought she actually went to Oz and went home on the balloon.

Mine is also The Wizard of Oz themed, but for me it was the flying monkeys. They still give me the creeps as an adult.
