Dr Anthony Fauci is “not convinced” COVID-19 developed naturally and says investigation should continue until the world knows “exactly what happened”.

America's top infectious diseases expert made the remarks during a Poynter event called United Facts of America: A Festival of Fact-Checking.

Dr Fauci was asked if he was still confident that COVID-19 developed naturally.

“No, actually,” he said.

“No, I’m not convinced about that, I think that we should continue to investigate what went on in China until we find out, to the best of our ability, exactly what happened.

“Certainly, the people who’ve investigated it say it likely was the emergence from an animal reservoir that then infected individuals, but it could have been something else, and we need to find that out.

“That’s the reason why I’m perfectly in favour of any investigation that looks into the origin of the virus.”

So much for the absolute denial of the possibility that Covid could have been man-made. 8)

Take note of the change of position.
Remember, some categorically denied the *possibility*.
Some have no concept of scientific skepticism, and blindly accept anything which is presented to them.
They embrace the false premise that everything is settled when it suits their political/ideological position.
Simple logic will tell people that if there is no definitive evidence, a definitive conclusion can't be made.
Speculation is not fact.

I hope they have learnt from this experience, but I doubt it.
Hyperpartisan politics corrupts people's perception and integrity.
And there was a mega-dose of butt-protecting, from the scientific community who is culpable for the deaths of 3.5 million people, and counting, assuming it did happen.

Butt in any case, the are scampering around trying to dodge the ramification. 8)

It was the Wade article that started changing minds. Shame most of this forum either ignored it or decided to attack the author because they didn't like what was being said.

Fauci denied any involvement in funding GOF in China when the research was considered too dangerous to be done in America.

I do know the idea of a "leak" has acquired more credibility through Fauci's notion.

This has already been mentioned in the main coronavirus thread.

My logic is sound.
If people deny the possibility of a man-made Covid virus, their's is not.

I disagree, based on this definition:

Quote:
bugaboo
/ˈbʌɡəbuː/
Learn to pronounce
nounNorth American
noun: bugaboo; plural noun: bugaboos

an object of fear or alarm; a bogey.

Quote:
There are several definitions of the term bogey (also spelled bogie). In the context of negotiating this term refers to a target, a false target, or a decoy. In technology the term may be used to refer to a false blip on a radar display.

Presumably, you didn't mean it that way. 8)
