Why does every woman dye their hair?

I don't dye my hair. Heck, I don't even get hair cuts--I trim it at home when I feel like it. I don't think nearly as many women dye their hair as you do, but maybe I haven't been paying attention.

i assumed they do it because its fun

I dye my hair jet black because I literally don't feel like myself in any other hair color. I am getting to be an age where the color I've been dying it since I was a goth teenager, will very shortly no longer suit me. I may simply decide not to care that it does or not. I don't feel like myself with any other haircolor and it's jarring and weird. But then I've decided to just get old as a goth anyway.

That said, once I have about 50% gray, I may experiment with the fun colors. It's too much upkeep to do that otherwise and I don't like bleaching my hair.
