In this day and age it might make you guilty of cultural appropriation.

I don't think the French mind so no one reasonable will complain.

Usually the biggest complaints arise when people take something traditionally sacred out of context or when there's a refusal to admit where whatever it might be was sourced from. Groups who've dealt with this for a long time tend to be touchier too.

So Persons of Color should not celebrate Saint Patrick's Day?

your bread? are you white?
On an emotional level, absolutely. Like, if I raise an eyebrow at a white person around bread, the first response is like, “It’s real.” What does that mean? They mean it’s not psychological.

I have had an opportunity to read her responses to the media and she is slightly (well more than slightly) irrational and perhaps a little disturbed.

She claims she has PTSD and PTSD does do that to people. She has completely removed her filter in terms of no longer caring to be circumspect. I have been saying she now has to (for the sake of stopping crazy people responding to her) try and apologise and explain herself. But she isn't.

Oh and the bread thing is based on reality if you remove her harsh swearing. Eating disorders are a largely white female condition based on trying to meet unrealistic body standards from role models in the media (skinny white models dominate everywhere from billboards, social media to cinema). If you read the links I posted then it aligns with the type of clients she is seeing.

I think its a pity for her many female patients and their families that she would say such a thing (literally describing them as b*****s). She seems to have a lot of pent up anger and its unfortunately misdirected.

That's quite the silly non-sequitur. :?
Where did I say anything even vaguely similar to that?

Why shouldn't non-Irish people celebrate it if they wish to? Are Irish people offended by this now?

The idea that a white person is automatically racist bothers me.

I think her unfiltered fantasy is in response to direct and indirect experiences of racism which includes micro aggressions. A micrroaggression is based on people's tone of voice/expression etc in response to a POC that the POC picks up but the white person is completely oblivious to.

I've been in zoom meetings where there's one POC with an accent and I can visibly see the white attendees make faces when the other person tries to talk. Perhaps they are trying to concentrate to decode the accent but to the POC it likely comes across as cringing. I've also seen subtle body language like turning away from the screen and typing which indicates a lack of interest in what the POC is saying. What seems harmless to us is perceived as microaggression to them. Over time it probably does have an impact.

In the case of Dr Khilanani it reached a critical mass.

Apparently we are prejudiced against ourselves looking for justification so anything is fair game now

A lot of folks are unable (or don't want to) to put themselves in other people's shoes.

Today's society is just too complicated, for me. 8O

Slayer did manage to turn that into an anthem for folks who want to feel like they're being martyred.
