There is a surprising correlation between baseline pupil size and several measures of cognitive ability.

I administer cognitive tests ....all the time, hundreds a year. Every test can elicit genius depending on what its measuring, you can be dumb on one and smart on the next. It's all about the quality of tests and a person's attentional control to attend to tasks. Which basically is what the article suggests. If you are interested and engaged, your eyes will follow suit. I feel like this is being presented as big news when it should be obvious to the researchers.

This is why I always study in the dark. I'm brighter that way. :nerdy:

The thought of people looking into my eyes to see how intelligent I am is scary! :P

Don't worry, if you feel anxious your pupils will dilate and your IQ will go up. :nerdy:

Well...geese are smart enough to not even TRY to text and walk at the same time.

In fact they dont even mess with smartphones at all, so they dont get hooked on Twitter. Nor do they drink energy drinks. I have never even seen one smoke a cigarette. So yeah...geese MUST be smarter than humans!

Isn't enlarged pupils a sign of head trauma?

Isn't an enlarged penis the result of Elephantitis?
What is your point?

That the pupil size claim is, oh I dunno - meaningless noise?

I don't exactly feel amazingly intelligent but my pupil size has been referred to before by friends as "OMG ANIME EYES" sigh.

Eyes are weird. Especially all that stuff about men having hunter eyes basically makes them a male model? wut?
