This could be the start of the end of the Covid-19 lie.

Ashley Luningham June 10, 2021 wrote:
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Several U.S. senators, including Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn, held a news conference expressing concerns about big tech companies censoring information.

Blackburn says Dr. Anthony Fauci and companies like Facebook and Twitter allegedly covered up that the COVID-19 virus came from a lab in Wuhan, China.

Sen. Roger Marshall of Kansas says media outlets and these companies helped steer people in a different direction.

“They worked together to suppress this story. They worked together to censor those of us who thought that this virus may have originated there,” Marshall said.

Blackburn and several other senators say they plan to work together to investigate the allegations.

Sen. Mike Braun of Indiana says the main issue they want to address is making sure the people get the right information.

“We need to have accountability, and I think it is for them to step up and lead the charge. They are the place where the people look to, listen to,” he said.

With the chance of having misinformation spread to the American people, Blackburn says they want to make sure that they can prevent this from happening by bringing their concerns before the Senate.

“We all have suggestions of how we as a Senate should move forward and things that we should do to make sure this never happens to the American people,” Blackburn said.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg proposed to Congress that legislation should require these companies to have transparency on regulating content, and to hold them accountable if they violate that rule.

As the Senators have called for Professor of Medicine,
Peter McCullough MD to be heard, I trust the Moderators
will now lift their censorship here on this website.

I fantasize about Tar & Feathering the heads of big business, and those who enable them, in censoring the Truth for their own political agenda.

Zuckerberg first.
Fauci next. 8)

God, I hate big business.

BTW, I  Joe Biden. [sigh]

But government is still going to tell you that you should only believe "Approved Sources" and that conspiracies don't exist.

Big business doesn't have power over us if we all learn to think for ourselves. 8)

Riiiight, this coming from the party of misinformation propaganda.. that's had an orange leader telling his cult members for ~5 years that the big tech boogieman is out to get them.

Even if there are any half truths to this, the reasons stated above are not why they want to push forward with any of this. It's 100% to rally their cult member troops behind trumpsters against educated people from Silicon Valley in order to solidify their powerful grip on the psyches of fragile impressionable people who might be beginning to bail on the trump train and accept that he lost and the republican party is chock full of nutjobs.

People need to stop deflecting just because their worldviews are challenged by science and critical thinking. Maybe they should re-examine their worldviews?

Looks more like the continuation of it.

Got to love the complete hypocrisy here. Covid-19 must be a lie because big business have made money out of it.

Big business make money out of EVERYTHING. That's what they do. There's a crisis, they cash in. It's the same regardless of which political parties are in power, too, though the Republicans seem to be suffering from some form of amnesia on that front right now. Just because money has been made doesn't mean there's any form of underlying conspiracy, or at least no more so than usual.

If profiteering is suddenly an indication of foul play, how come that only applies here and not to anything else? Are the Republicans suddenly saying that capitalism is bad? And if so, what are they recommending in its place?

And then we move onto censorship, which basically seems to amount to "Whatever is in our interests politically is acceptable, and whatever isn't must be banned". Even when there's an equal likelyhood that the first set of info is complete garbage (and thus dangerous in a pandemic situation) and the second set could be entirely accurate.

This is all predicated on those calling for change being correct. What if they are wrong, what then? Censoring the truth because it doesn't fit the agenda doesn't sound very democratic to me. While that's what is being alleged here, it could also be the outcome of saying just that when it isn't true.

Basically all these arguements come down to, "I only want to hear what I agree with". Not a messy, complicated, hard to explain reality where not everything is black and white, good guys and bad guys. It's a simplistic, binary argument designed to stir up trouble. Even the starting point here is misleading - "China developed Covid-19 in a lab". Even if that's true, the automatic assumption here is that any such action would have been deliberate and malicious. Whereas it could (ironically) have been the accidental outcome of disease prevention research, if it's true at all. We don't know and it isn't a priority, the priority is keeping our citizens alive and healthy.

Again, you'd think the Republicans would be wary of China's aspirations to threaten America's imperialist dominance, AND WOULD THEREFORE WELCOME EFFORTS TO COMBAT A THREAT THEY BELIEVE TO HAVE ORIGINATED, DELIBERATELY, IN CHINA. Surely that makes the lockdowns, vaccinations etc. all the more worthwhile? And some big American companies who contribute to GOP party funds get to make shedloads of cash at the same time, so hurrah for that too.

But instead there is some Karen-esque hypocritical outrage about, well, what exactly?
