I wasn’t intending to aim the PPR comment at you or anything, sorry if it came across that way  Just trying to explain why I wasn’t theorizing about anything religious here.

No worries.

Then you'll need to learn how to role-play more thoughtfully.

Sorry, I don't think God has much control over it =(

I think we're getting pretty close, though.

The answer to your question is binary. Yes or No. It's Yes. Once it's over. It's over. Nobody gets to cheat death. That is a logically satisfying proposal. Death is the great equalizer.

It's tough for humans to contemplate nonexistence, so the idea of afterlife soothes us.

On the possibility of reincarnation:

(LINK) The late Roger Ebert (the movie critic) wrote 'Quantum Theory of Reincarnation.' 'Theory' is the operative word. Ebert argued that reincarnation is possible from a "scientific, rationalist point of view."

EXCERPT: Let's begin, for the sake of argument, by saying that when you get right down to the bottom--under the turtles--everything, and I mean Everything, consists of quantum particles. These particles can as well be in one place as another, even at the same time.

Thoughtful perspectives on reincarnation are usually inconclusive- and are best interpreted through scientific contexts.

Is is possible that long term memory abilities common with the Autism Spectrum (memories from decades-ago) might provide insights as to whether or not reincarnation exists?

Anecdotal evidence is probably about the best we will ever get.

Personally, I find a lot of said evidence to be quite compelling...but most people aren't willing to consider anything we can't look at under a microscope.
