Hi I'm needing some help choosing an anniversary gift for my wife, nothing common or generic.
I've searched google for ideas and everything same old, same old.
Can anyone give me any suggestions on something a little bit different?

Well...it sort of depends on what she would consider a treat.

I don't know the Pandemic status of Scotland, right now. Normally dinner out can cause a smile, but not if it comes with a deadly virus. Ditto taking her to a show (live or movie).

There are some TV shows (some fiction, some documentary) that my bride enjoys. If the same is true of your bride then she might enjoy seeing something along those lines. You'd probably get extra credit if it was something she and the family would enjoy.

Any special foods?

Jewelry is often liked, if it is something she's like. You sort of have to know her taste in jewelry.

But, if she's been dropping any hints then take a hint!

Since it's an anniversary she'll want to do something special for you as well. Maybe you can both decide on a nice way to relax together. Special takeaway, a day trip, a weekend away, or a special day of being alone together at home. I know you can't do very much during Covid, but setting aside uninterrupted time for each other would be really nice.

Thank you for your input. I was thinking of something sentimental like maybe a keepsake or a charm bracelet of our time together but i don't know if they are good gifts.
She is very difficult to choose for haha, but making her a nice meal is something i already had on the to do list and have time together and watch old movies maybe, she loves those. As going out would be difficult at the moment as our 5 year old daughter has difficulties with her autism.
It is 9 years this time and I want to show my love in a better way than previous times of the generic gifts and such.
But anymore ideas that come to mind and I will throw something together.

Just make sure your company overrides any "gift" you give her.

To me, I don't care if I receive a gift----as long as my lover is nice company, and doesn't argue with me over everything.

I'd rather have good company than a good gift---any day of the week.

How about a cup or cushion or something similar that one can have a personal photograph put onto it?

Listening to what your wife likes is the surest way to make her happy. Making an effort by planning ahead and finding out her preferences will help a lot.

What would she like you to cook for her, for instance. Don’t cook your favorite menu but the foods she prefers.

Does Scotland have wineries? take her for a gourmet dinner at a winery and buy her a boutique gift in a local gift shop that sells hand made gifts or gift baskets. Wives love all that frilly stuff with flowers and ribbons.

you don't want to ask autists for gift ideas for your wife. ask someone who is NT, you'll get a better and more normal recommendation.
