Lightning used to knock out all the handset landline phones here.After a bad storm Walmart would be sold out of all them.
Once it shot a blue flame (?)bolt(?) about a foot out of the front of the DVR while we were watching tv.We should have unplugged it but we were lazy.It still worked but was slow.When I called for DISH to replace it ,the tech said a blue flame shooting out of it was, “Not good, not good at all!” I agree.
When I was a kid the old timers told a story about a woman that was out in a storm pumping water into a trough for the cows.Lightning struck her and she fell into the trough.Everyone wondered if she died from the strike or was knocked out and drowned.Guess it didn’t matter, she was still dead.
