‘Snowflake Test’ for Job Applicants Weeds Out the Unproductive

1. Outside of standard benefits, what benefits should a company offer employees? The benefits that a company should offer employees is both what I desire and what a company chooses to offer.

2. What should the national minimum wage be? I think the national minimum wage should allow one to afford the cost of living including medical bills. The reason I say this is so the employees can be healthy enough to afford the company's products. This is what Henry Ford did with his car called the Model T. He paid them enough so his employees were able to afford his product. By doing this you reduce the cost of turnover and having to hire and train new employees.

3. How many sick days should be given to employees? As many as an employee needs so the company can reduce the spread of infection therefore keeping its profit margins up.

4. How often should employees get raises? It should be based upon merit and if the company can afford it.

5. How do you feel about guns? My feelings should be irrelevant to any kind of policy made or not made about guns. We should act upon objective truth, facts, reason, logic and scientific data.

6. What are your feelings about employees or clients carrying guns? My feelings should be irrelevant to any kind of policy made or not made where it concerns employees or clients carrying guns. As long as they do no harm with them and are well trained it is not my business if they have guns or not. They should be able to carry other weapons like nukes and dirty bombs. ;)

7. What are your feelings about safe spaces in challenging work environments? My feelings should not be a factor in creating safe spaces. If I need a safe space then I don’t need to be there. Why would I desire be in a place where I’m hated and reviled?

8. In a creative environment like The Silent Partner Marketing, what do you envision work attire looking like? It would be modest, it would be made for safety in the company and it would look and feel comfortable. If an employee is uncomfortable then productivity will go down.

9. Should “trigger warnings” be issued before we release content for clients or the company that might be considered “controversial”? No, I think it is dumb and this includes rated M porn videos that can be played at anytime by any supervisor and employee including Two Girls, One Cup. Let’s be consistent in what is released is what I say. ;)

10. How do you feel about police? There are good cops and bad cops. The police are a culture and within this culture are subcultures. There are some good and bad aspects to it. The police are as human as you and me with the same imperfections and the frailties and are therefore not beyond reproach and neither are the cultures and subcultures.

11. If you owned the company and were to find out that a client is operating unethically but was a high paying client…how would you handle it? Diogenes of Sinople while shining his lantern and walking around asked people “Where can I find an honest man?” The point is we’re all human beings and none of us are perfect. None of us are absolutely ethical including yours truly. I would continue to do business with this client and encourage the client to do better in his ethical decisions. If anyone was hurt because of this client I would donate some of our profits to some of these people while at the same time maintaining our profit margins to help mitigate this.

12. When was the last time you cried and why? When I received the phone call from my dad that my mother died, when my father showed me her dead body and at her funeral. There are days I struggle and to repress the desire to put a bullet to my head. Alas poor Yoric, who would take care of my elderly father and my poor wife would be devastated so nah.

13. You arrive at an event for work and there’s a major celebrity you’ve always wanted to meet. What happens next? I don’t care for celebrities because they’re fake and phony like Paris Hilton. I don't care about Kim Kardashian's ass as well even if it made s**t smell like roses.

14. What’s your favorite kind of adult beverage? I don’t drink.

15. What’s the best way to communicate with clients? The best way to communicate with clients is with honesty and using proper manners like please and thank you.

16. What’s your favorite thing to do in your free time? I love to read, play games and write my own stories.

17. What are your thoughts on the current college environment as it pertains to a future workforce? Honestly, this whole idea that everyone should go to college which is encouraged today to be in the workplace is stupid. Not everyone is college material and some would be better off learning a trade. Another thing, Mr. Reyes the students, including myself, were given half-truths about what college was, what it did and what it would take to succeed in the workplace. As for researching it myself and taking responsible, one can’t research something one doesn’t know and one doesn’t realize one doesn’t know. None of us had a full and complete understanding of what we were all getting into.

18. What’s your typical breakfast? Sometimes I will have eggs. Sometimes I will have a protein shake. Sometimes I will have a bowl of cereal. It depends on what I wish to have.

19. What’s your favorite drink when you go to a coffeehouse? I do not have a favorite drink.

20. How do you handle bullies? To be honest, I ate it and I told the teacher and it accomplished nothing. I do not get bullied today but if I did I would walk away because more than likely if I attempted to defend myself or fight them I would go to jail with them.

21. How do you handle it when your ideas are shot down? I would accept the shoot down of the idea, drink a cup of coffee and do my other duties of the job. I would accept that there is a reason beyond my understanding that the idea was shot down and do my other job duties unless there was a compelling need for me to need to know the reasoning.

22. What do you do if a coworker comes to the table with an idea and it sucks? First, I would listen to my co-worker or read over his idea depending upon the medium it presented in. Second, I would ask my co-worker for a few minutes to ponder over his ideas. Third, I would notate everything that he said was good and everything he said was bad. Fourth, I would explain to him what was good about the idea, what was bad about the idea and attempt to improve upon my co-worker’s idea.

23. What does the first amendment mean to you? The first amendment is not a right per se but a prohibition. Before the civil war it meant that Congress is not allowed to pass a law that establishes a religion, prohibit anyone from practicing in one and other things in it. After the civil war, the first amendment applied to all governments, federal, state, local, and county. In other words, government is not allowed to pass any laws preventing any of the items stated in the first amendment. The first amendment doesn’t apply to any other entity outside of government like a corporation, forum or anything else. I suffer the consequences of whatever I say or do.

24. What does faith mean to you? Faith means to accept a statement, idea, or anything else without evidence or proof. It is antithetical to reason, logic and critical thinking.

25. Who is your role model and why? My mother and my father and because they stuck by me through thick and thin and sacrificed and helped me a lot throughout my years in spite of my being a s**t sometimes.

26. "You're in Starbucks with two friends. Someone runs in and says someone is coming in with a gun in 15 seconds to shoot patrons. They offer you a gun. Do you take it? What do you do next?" No, I would not take it at all. I would be very skeptical about this because it would stand to reason that this person would attempt to shoot the gunman himself. Why would he just arbitrarily hand me a gun? I would consider this person suspicious? Is this person trying to rob us? This would make no logical sense.

27. What does America mean to you? America, assuming we mean the USA, was a country that was founded when the 13 colonies revolted against England and declared their independence in 1776 at the time due to unfair taxes and no representation. The first government was based upon the Articles of Confederation and due to inherent issues with this setup it had to be disbanded and the Constitution was formed.

28. You see someone stepping on an American flag. What do you do? It depends upon what flag they’re stamping on. If it is their own flag then it is not my business what they do and I would say and do nothing. Personally, I don’t see what one would gain by doing this but to each his own. If it was someone else’s flag and the person was trespassing I would call the police and report it as an anonymous caller.

29. What does “privilege” mean to you? Privilege means that one has something that confers an advantage over others.

30. What’s more important? Book smarts or street smarts? Why? Both are but tools in one’s arsenal in living one’s life. If book smarts will help accomplish what I need or wish to accomplish then I will use book smarts. If street smarts will accomplish what I need or wish to accomplish then I will use them as well. Whatever tool works for the job, I will use. So, both have important value.

This appears to be a way of discriminating against people with left-wing beliefs the employer disagrees with, rather than anything to do with "productivity." The writers would (correctly) squeal foul if someone put out a "test" designed to do the same to right-wingers.

So?  An active company cannot stop production every time some snowflake traumatizes over a paper cut.

The point of such a test is to weed out potential employees who believe sensitivity is more important than productivity.  There are more subtle ways of doing this, of course, but I have seen none more effective.

People are employed in the corporate sector to work, not to express their feelings or take part in a day-long therapy session for overly-sensitive adults.  Of course, there seems to be little else by way of employment for those who have earned HASS degrees.

Roughly half of the questions aim directly at attitudes which are completey irrelevant to doing the job. And I dispute strongly that left-wing views automatically make someone a poor worker. Quite the opposite, in my experience. Apart from anything else, would you gladly employ someone who thinks it's fine to fling racist insults at collegues, customers and contacts? That does not seem like a recipe for efficient working. And "getting the most out of your employees" does not equal treating them like s***, getting them to treat each other like s*** and then being all hurt and surprised when they quit without notice, rob you blind, cut corners leading to a fatal accident, get your company tied up in legal action etc etc etc. because acting like a hard-case is more important to them than acting like a decent human being.

I fail to see how most of these questions would tell employers how someone would perform while working. This questionnaire seems like an unnecessary waste of time.

Apologies, you seem to have hit the switch for my Rant of the Day. The bile is not intended for you personally. It is a sore point with me. The Anti-Snowflake Brigade are very much in charge of my country at the moment. Despite their rhetoric, they have proven themselves over and over again to be incompetant, lazy, corrupt on a scale Ferdinand Marcos could only have dreamed of, criminally irresponsible and dangerously divisive (plus, er, surprisingly easy to offend), while making it their duty to persecute the hard-working people who actually keep this country running day to day. All to rapturous applause from the brainwashed public, including many of the same people they are screwing over so assiduously. So when I see this line of alt-right propaganda taking root elsewhere, I see red. (Pun intended.)

It seems like the test is designed to isolate right-wing snowflakes from reasonable people and filter out the reasonable applicants. Sounds great if the goal is to create an ideological safespace for said snowflakes.

I dont think most small business owners who have that test as part of their employment screening would be too excited on having the living wage be the min wage.Most jobs are with small businesses i think if i am not mistaken.

28. You see someone stepping on an American flag. What do you do? It depends upon what flag they’re stamping on. If it is their own flag then it is not my business what they do and I would say and do nothing. Personally, I don’t see what one would gain by doing this but to each his own. If it was someone else’s flag and the person was trespassing I would call the police and report it as an anonymous caller.

I dont think most small businesses would be too keen on having the living wage be the min wage.Most jobs are with small businesses i think if i am not mistaken.


Was the question asking me what I think is a realistic and pragmatic answer or what my desire was? I thought it was asking for what my desire was in the best of all possible circumstances.

I would answer the question based on what would be a realistic and pragmatic amount for the firm.Thats just my thoughts.

These personality tests are one of the reasons why I left the USA and I am employed in China right now. In China and other countries as far as I know you don't have to take these sorts of tests. Truth is more than likely I will never be employed in the USA.

The point of such a test is to weed out potential employees who believe sensitivity is more important than productivity.  There are more subtle ways of doing this, of course, but I have seen none more effective.

People are employed in the corporate sector to work, not to express their feelings or take part in a day-long therapy session for overly-sensitive adults.  Of course, there seems to be little else by way of employment for those who have earned HASS degrees.


Not all the questions have to do with sensitivity. Most are purely political. And inappropriate.
