A public university in Toronto, Ontario changed its name to "X" for that reason.

At first, the Roanoke settlers (the first bunch in 1585) were able to establish decent relations with the Native Americans—but, soon, the Native Americans began to mistrust the English.

An epidemic of, possibly, smallpox or influenza, killed many Native Americans. It was thought that the English planted an evil spell upon the Native Americans.

Another attempt was made in 1587. This attempt lead to what is now called the Lost Colony of Roanoke.

Roanoke is now a city in Western Virginia, hundreds of miles from the coast.

Fun video on how nuts Andrew Jackson was.
Explains why Trump admired him.

I've been to Roanoke and I saw the lost colony. That's why I asked.
