Have you played Sonic 3 on Genesis? I really liked that game.

Yes.

I also have Sonic & Knuckles.
I'm not sure which way I prefer the game, but I do like the beta Sonic 3 soundtrack better than the Michael Jackson songs

The only Sonic game I have really played is Sonic 4 episode 1 and episode 2 off Steam. I liked both but episode 2 has better reviews. Both are worth playing in my opinion.

Yes, but I preferred the first two.

One of the best games on the system. I think I prefer Sonic 2, but all three are great.

One of my cousins had that game and console. It was fun the few times we played!

Sure, as a poor teen I couldn't afford a Mega Drive (genesis) but I loved playing Sonic and Sonic II on friend's machines. My sisters boyfriend lent me a Mega Drive and a friend lent me Sonic 3 when he'd finished it so it was the first one I got to play on my own time (Master System versions not withstanding). Loved it then and still play it occasionally via Retroarch

Anyone wanna play?

They've also got the prototype and the normal version.

This was one of my favorite games when I was a kid and then I discovered Sonic and Knuckles. I wish I discovered that game sooner and if I had known it was a lot like the other Sonic games, I would have rented it.

Forget Sonic 3 on the Genesis, I'm all about Sonic 4 on the Genesis.

Since one or two years ago, there's been an all-new remaster of Sonic 3 & Knuckles named Angel Island Revisited (A.I.R.), which behaves rather similarly to SEGA, Christian Whitehead, and Stealth's own mobile remasters of Sonic 1 and Sonic 2. It includes mod support as well as base-game features and additions out the butt, and all you need is to buy a Steam copy of S3&K!

Go look into it if you use Steam.

Loved this game back in the day, although honestly speaking Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles were meant to be one game and should be played as such.

I remember getting to 999 rings in Marble Garden, glitching the boss in Hydrocity, getting all the emeralds, ripping the soundtrack directly from hardware back in 2002 to my first portable mp3-player. Good times.

I also remember trying to go for the Sonic 2 speedrun WR. Ten years ago I could do Emerald Hill to Final Zone in 16:08, but haven't played since. Gave up when I realized just how much time the pros put into these kind of things.

Sonic the Hedgehog (1) is where it all begins though. Nothing beats the first time you race through Green Hill Zone 1 jamming to the iconic tune. Forever stuck in that summer of 1992 ...

The second game was my first...didn't get to play the original game until much later.
And Sonic CD was much, much later.

Yes, I loved all the Sonic games on the Genesis (Mega Drive over here in the UK). My first Sonic game was actually the Master System one which I completed over and over with all Chaos Emeralds collected. :)

On the Genesis/Mega Drive I think I played Sonic 2 the most, followed by Sonic 3/Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

I've been playing Sonic Mania again recently and I really love that game as well. :)
