You may have thought that the ad was cute for the first five seconds of the first time you saw it- but now you find them to be sanity threateningly annoying after the zillion hours you have seen their ads on TV. But have you ever wondered what exactly "Kars for kids" actually does for kids?

I generally drive cars into the ground before get my next ride. So its never worth the time for me to find buyers for my used up previous cars. So I generally donate them. Gave my next to last to Melwood (gives jobs to handicapped folks), but the last time looked for them on the web I got shunted to Kars4kids. I guess Melwood got out of the car taking business. So I gave my last klunker to k4k. However I just now learned that K4K is not quite the same kind of charity as Melwood, or the local NPR station (that I have also given cars to).

In what way?

I hear the ads all the time. Do they rip people off?

Ummm...

I posted a video...did you friggin watch it?

I admit its not as nefarious as it could be. Its just not what you might think. Half the money goes to just making more ads, and only half goes to the cause. And the cause is not your usual charity but to prosyltize a particular religion ( a religion that some consider to be a cult).

I watched it. Interesting!

Yes, I've heard that commercial quite a few times. Yes, I find the jingle annoying. And, yes...many times I've wondered "But, what do they DO?!" But sometimes I just think it sounds like they are offering a trade.

Thanks for the enlightenment!

Purportedly, they used the profits from the sale of cars to “ help kids.”

Probably, further research will reveal more specifically where the money for these sales actually go.
