NASA has warned that a “wobble” in the Moon’s orbit and rising sea levels will start “a decade of dramatic increases in flood numbers” in the 2030s.
It says that every coast in the United States will face rapidly increasing high tides that’ll see a tsunami of problems for the globe.

The conclusion, which was published in the Nature Climate Change journal by NASA Sea Level Change Science Team from the University of Hawaii, has to do with the Moon’s cycle, which takes 18.6 years to complete according to NASA.
NASA explains that these floods will likely occur in clusters that last a month or longer, meaning their impact will be much more severe than usual, depending on the positions of the Sun, Moon and Earth.

Well it certainly looks like the MIT cataclysm model from 1972 estimating the earth will collapse between 2020-2040 is coming true.

The "wobble" referred to is called the "Saros Cycle", and is mainly used to predict Lunar and Solar eclipses.  This natural cycle was known by different names under the Chaldean (neo-Babylonian) astronomers in the last several centuries B.C.  One saros period after an eclipse, the Sun, Earth, and Moon return to approximately the same relative geometry, a near straight line, and a nearly identical eclipse will occur, in what is referred to as an eclipse cycle.  A sar is one half of a saros.

The period of this cycle is about 18.03011700 years of 365.2421875 days each.

The combination of the Sun's and the Moon's gravitation pulls, which cause tides in the first place, and climate change are the reasons behind the expected flooding.  Low-lying areas near sea level are increasingly at risk and suffering due to the increased flooding, and it will only get worse -- some floods could happen in clusters; meaning the flooding may last over a month.  Depending on the position of the Moon, Sun and Earth, some cities may experience flooding on consecutive days or every second day.

Glad I don’t live on the coast.

I live about 25 miles inland.  People from the beach cities are asking about the selling price of my house.

I guess I shouldn't feel bad about not being able to afford that $ 5,000,000 waterfront property, then.

There's nothing worse than a wobbly moon.

Soon you will have beachfront property.

How about some cheap "beachfront" real estate in Arizona?

Nah, I'm good.

I just got an offer: $ 50 for the entire country of The Netherlands.

It's overpriced.

I can see it now: Climate deniers arguing that coastal flooding is all bc of the moon wobble and not climate change.
The 2030's will be dark times, and the climate deniers will be to blame.

Better visit New Orleans sooner than later.

The old saying that "If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem" is true in a lot of situations (i.e., global warming, covid, racism, sexism, et cetera).

I'll live to see entire nations and islands wiped off that map and it's horrible.

Zero Marshall Islands.
They will only exist in the memories of former inhabitants. After they die, just a sad line in a history book.
