A while ago I said that I would like to run some polls next year (2022). I thought I would do a test run to see how people responded. The question is: which is better? Ice cream as a lolly/popsicle? Or ice cream served in a cone? Feel free to explain your choice in the thread. You can re-vote if you wish. Hoping people have fun with this!

I don't like popsicles, somehow them not having cream makes them taste way too sweet, and I'm generally not a big fan of fruity flavors in ice creams.
I love ice cream in cones, there are so many fun flavors and I love the texture. I used to hate cones as a kid but grew to like them.

Actually, are there non-fruity flavors of popsicles ? Like coffee or chocolate ?

Lollies are nothing but sugar, flavouring, and colouring.  Popsicles are the same, but with more water.

Ice cream has greater nutritional value due to the higher fat content, even more when chunks of fruit are mixed in.

I have had chocolate ice ream in popsicle form before, yes. And also vanilla with chocolate on the outside (Magnums).

I love the texture of popsicles, but I don't like the texture of cones.

I'm all for using a bowl. Even if I have a cone, I end up putting it all in a bowl when it gets drippy.

Ah, I think I misunderstood what popsicles are, I thought they were the ones made with water with no milk/cream. So it's any ice cream that's on a piece of wood/plastic ? Then I like them, especially Magnum. :P

Popsicles have more of a tendency to be fruity than chocolatey in the vernacular sense. Though it wouldn't be necessarily incorrect to call a Magnum, say, a popsicle. Though I wouldn't call it a popsicle.

I've heard a chocolate popsicle being called a "fudgeicle."

In my area I've always heard those ice creams on sticks referred to as "ice cream bars". Popsicles are usually fruit flavoured, juice/whatever sugary liquid based things on sticks. Fudgesicles I think do count as a popsicle though, even though they're not fruit flavoured.

I eat too fast for the ice-cream to have time to melt  If I'm getting ice-cream at a stand place that I'll eat there, I would get the cone instead of a bowl since the the price & the amount of ice-cream I'd get would be the same either way & I could eat the cone as well. I don't love the cones & would not pay for them but they're OK. When I'm eating ice-cream at home it is not uncommon for me to just eat out the container instead of a bowl :pig: if the ice-cream is mostly just for me & not something I'm really intending to share. I don't buy ice-cream that often nowadays due to costs & my weight. I did not buy any when we went grocery shopping yesterday.

no, sweetened with splenda or stevia or the like. NOT just a "bowl of milk."

Lolly only if it's covered in chocolate and the ice cream inside is not too hard. I like some creaminess in my ice cream. Usually I get a bowl/cup, cones get soggy before I'm done.

I love the popsicles that are in a tube instead of on a stick, sucking the melt out afterward is the best part.
