Last month marked the six anniversary of the most devestating loss I've ever experienced. A woman I loved very deeply took her own life. I'd never experienced such intense and total attraction to anyone in my life. I didn't want to fall in love with her, but I had no choice. The similarities between us were staggering. In her own words, we were "congenial spirits. "

I don't want to get into too many details, but we never had a romantic relationship, she stated she was done with them. But the friendship continued.

I think I've posted something like this one other time. It was right after she passed.

Some wounds never heal completely. that's a fact of life. I have never missed a person quite like this. The last month it has opened up a little more.

What a remarkable woman, VM. She lived life fully and on her own terms, doing exactly what she loved best.
I'm very sorry for your heartbreaking loss and for what you're going through.

Anniversaries are really difficult. I wish I knew how to help or what to say.

Sending hugs and a listening ear, any time you'd like to talk about her or your feelings.

A great idea. The best way to honour her and she would wish nothing better as a tribute that others share what she loved doing. She sure was an amazing person and I can understand how immense your loss is - she leaves a void that can't be filled.

Two of her favorite authors were George Elliot and Anthony Trollope. I've read 'Middlemarch " by Elliot, and 'The Way We Live Now' by Trollope. The latter I loved the most, it's so rich with subplots.

As far as Philosophy, she always said Plato was her hero.

We had a group hike the day of her memorial in the Smokies, and her brother spread some of her ashes. He later went to a number of other places in the mountains that were special to her to spread the rest.

WOWWWWW --- Two extraordinary authors, the most celebrated book in English literature, and my favourite philosopher. I'm a diehard Platonist. I think she seems remarkable.
