It's imitating trophy trucks, they usually have a somewhat squatted stance to alter how they behave over jumps.
They also have bespoke suspension systems that are designed with that stance in mind, they don't just have half a lift-kit installed like most of the bro trucks that go for that look.

In the southern part of the state people jacked 4x4 trucks up to go mudding.
You’d think you’d see that here in the mountains to clear rocks but there’s not that many of them. They are easier to roll over.

They should be restricted to imitating them off road, not endangering drivers and passengers of regular cars on public roads.

I agree. Donut did a video and there's a degree it can be done to that doesn't really impact sightlines (ie they could still see the slammed Miata in front of them even at a much closer distance than would ever be likely in traffic), but when done too far it does make a difference.

The states that have passed laws addressing them usually allow a few inches of lift in the front but not enough to interfere with sightlines.

Bumper height is also an issue. Not everywhere has bumper height laws, though - or if they do they're not enforced. It seems kind of stupid to have different bumper height laws for various vehicles.. higher truck bumpers, lower car bumpers = they don't collide in a collision. Next to impossible to do, though.

Still, from a pure safety & physics standpoint it seems silllly to have some high some low.. especially once that are Very high - like well above car door braces and supports.
