That’s ridiculous!

They now have an obligation to find housing for those people.

Read the  Ordinance , boys; thoroughly, this time.  There is nothing in the ordinance that specifically makes homelessness illegal; there is only the stated declaration to keep its public rights-of-way clean and available for public use, and to protect the public health, safety, and access by City constituents.

People are is still free to be homeless; they are simply no longer allowed to exercise that freedom to occupy streets, sidewalks, alleys, doorways, parks, parking lots, recreational areas, overpasses, underpasses, freeway ramps, or rights-of-way for public utilities.

Homelessness itself is not always the fault of the homeless person, so it cannot -- and should not -- be a crime.  Trespassing, blocking traffic, and preventing free and easy access of public spaces to others (especially the handicapped) is and should be unlawful.

Yup!  Simple efficiency cabins.  They can build these, too:

/\Those can be really nice.Small spaces laid out well can be very efficient.
I just love how cute the tiny houses are.
They even landscaped them!People would have a sense of pride again staying in a cute modern little house.

Or they will treat them like trashy, third-rate trailer parks...

Well then they should invest in some cheap basic housing the homeless people can stay in. That way it will make it much easier for them not to break tresspassing laws...

The main reason they do is because of lack of anywhere to go, so providing a place they can go should help I imagine.

Those people who receive those little houses have a responsibility to maintain those houses.

If a person abandons one of these houses, it’s not the government’s problem.

I don’t think that will happen in these.
It’s not a trailer park.

have witnessed many times people do not embrace free public
housing , for them it is like a freedom , not having to deal with responsibilties of living in a normal
living situation . Have seen many criminal types that think its a big adventure to see if they can
get away with lotsa low level crimes , to offset there budget be it drugs or alchohol .
Knowing full well the police havent the time to handle lotsa low level property crimes , And if a person actually complains too much , and they can locate the complainant , It becomes a issue of being targeted by this person and his buddies , for you then appear to be infringing on their right to live as they choose. This is a reality . Sometimes they have given up all hope of dealing with the real world . And prefer to live as they choose . Taking advantage of unknowning public persons whom
believe they are helping their fellow man. Panhandling for beer and drug money . And enabling these people to live outside the law.. This is not to say that everyone who is homeless is a criminal .
More than one time, when i see what appears to be a small family panhandling ,
have happily handed 5 dollars over to them .. Am not likely to hand over money to people especially individuals ,whom are wearing a better qualty of shoes than i can afford to own .

One is two years old and hasn’t happened yet.If you don’t clean up you get evicted. If you do drugs you go to rehab and they hold the home till you get back.Or you get evicted.Read the last part. You can’t even smoke in the homes and volunteer groups also help with maintenance.
