I am not sure what you mean by the Democrat / Taliban comparison in your post, but I expect that's tongue in cheek as well.
It was hyperbole, a.k.a. an exaggeration meant to make a point. And it's my poetic license to do so.

Still, there are many parallels between the Democrats and the Taliban, enough to freak people out. Like...
masks = hijabs
social distancing = halal laws
Covid-19 = God
Covid-19 "guidelines" = Koran/Quran
Anthony Fauci = Prophet Mohamed
essential workers = devout Muslims
"taking Covid seriously" = People of the Book paying jizya
conservatives = Northern Alliance
covidiots = infidels
treatment of productive citizens and small businesses = treatment of women

I'm aware that this is a Democrat-sponsored website, which means my post presents a conflict of interest. You want to keep this site's member base in order to feed it ads you took money for, but I'm a threat to your political loyalty.

So... instead of banning me, "canceling" me, or issuing me a warning, treat this post as political satire, which is protected speech per the First Amendment of the Constitution of the Unites States of America, regardless of money.

QAnon has more in common with the Taliban. Both are dangerous ideologies creating terrorists. And you can never defeat an ideology no matter how absurd it is. 20 years wasted in Afghanistan has proven that.

We don't have any problem with political satire, only with personal attacks. There's nothing wrong with having differing viewpoints and they don't entail espousing unacceptable ideologies. There's no reason to warn or ban you or anyone else otherwise. The website isn't sponsored by any political interests as far as I'm aware. I'm not a Democrat - I'm not even American. So you have no reason to plead the First Amendment! :)

Fair enough. But Alex Plank is American, and an extreme leftist liberal at that. And you work for him as a mod, so... ;).

My post comparing Covid "safety" to Taliban is satire against Democrats, making it protected speech. Even highly socialist Russia tolerated satire against its leaders during glasnost ("voicing/openness/transparency", in late 1980's thru early 1990's). Per the federal law, parody/satire is exempt from the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, which is one of the most pro-rich, pro-corporate laws ever enacted. Which is even irrelevant here, as any works of the US federal government are in the public domain by default.

^ We're volunteers, not employees!! "Work for" implies getting paid... And Alex permits and protects freedom of speech on here. Your posts don't breach any rules, since you haven't defended acts of violence or attacked any members whom you disagree with.

I enjoy a bit of satire - there's plenty of that on sites such as YouTube...and it's something that's always been used by newspapers and the like.

I meant "work for" in a sense of follow orders and enforce rules. I volunteered in an animal shelter before Biden-19. I listened to my manager and did what she told me. Even though I was paid $0, got pushback from parents when I told kids to sit on the floor when holding a puppy or a kitten, got nipped or scratched, and had my clothes smell afterwards, I still thought of it as real "work"---although the animals were incredibly cute and fun.

"Why did the kids have to sit on the floor?" Their hands are smaller than adults' hands, and their reactions are slower. So the risk of them dropping a kitten or a puppy is greater. That's why I had to ask kids, and not adults, to sit on the floor when playing with one of the shelter's animals.

I'm happy to hear that I'm in compliance, despite pushing the envelope. I got issued warnings from one former mod for far more innocuous things than what I posted here. (Perhaps because this is a political debate forum, and that was in Love and Dating.)
