Sensory processing disorder peer/support and socializing

Like a lot of people, I didn't find out that I was autistic until later in life. The sensory processing disorder just clicked recently. So, where/how, in real life, do those of us who are so built go about finding our local peers? How do we find others require the same type of unconventional/niche community/interactions/connections?
