My “genetics” are okay—though I’m only 5 foot 5.

I’m fairly well-proportioned, and have good posture.

I’m plain to decent-looking. Not ugly. Not a hunk.

Mostly, it actually depends on the clothes I wear.

How would one, say, rate Albert Einstein in terms of “looks”?

Hot, absolutely hot!

He actually was a "lady's man".

I would say on an average day, I'm a 7. On my good and great days an 8-8.5 and on my worse days a 6-5. I think I'm pretty handsome, could use some exercise though. Personally though I prefer to let my "handsomeness" just show instead of putting an arbitrary number on it because to each person I will be a "rating" high or low based on their preferences anyway.

I’m not pretty, but I’m not hideous, either. I used to at least have a decent figure, until I gained weight from chemo. I hate the shape of my face, and still have skin problems. Obviously I’m below average to some extent because plenty of men like women who are “average”/“plain” looking and no one who’s seen me in person has ever shown any interest in me, but not ugly enough to stand out as such. Precisely the place where as far as anyone else is concerned, I may as well be invisible. And since I’m asexual, aromantic, and asocial, I probably prefer it that way.

That's funny, I saw you(not face to face but video chat) and you definitely wasn't "below average" and you weren't invisible on this guy's radar.
There are things that you might have to work on to be your best self, but then, who doesn't(heck, I'm doing it myself!). Gotta get that confidence and self-esteem up and then go out there and shake it like a salt shaker! (I'm kidding on the "shake it like a salt shaker" part) :)

I'm 5 foot 5, naturally a thin person but I've put on a lot of weight due to laziness and comfort eating, got a stupid shape face (long and narrow with smallish forehead), close-together eyes, and that dirty-blonde colour hair. Not very stunning at all.

But the way I see it there's no such thing as an ugly human (appearance-wise). Ugly is an opinion people with low self-esteem have of themselves, and is an insult to call someone. Even deformed people shouldn't be called ugly, they just look different to the norm.

So I don't consider myself ugly, because there's no such thing as ugly. I just don't think I'm as attractive as my cousins. All my brother's male friends fancy one of my female cousins but they've never looked at me or told my brother how hot his sister is.

On a scale of 1-10, i'm probably a 5.

I do workout at least 3 times a week and am fairly fit, but my 5 ft 3 and naturally small frame brings down my attractiveness score a bit. I have a fairly masculine face but the problem is that my masculine face doesn't quite match with my short and small physique, ESPECIALLY when I was younger and skinnier. Basically, the face doesn't match the body. Although I have filled out a little bit in the past year which has helped.

Funny you say that. In the US at least, that was considered an average height. I'm 5'9. Yet, I've noticed teenagers and young adults who are much taller than me when I'm out shopping or running errands. These kids would've been considered much taller than average when I was in school, and I'm still in my thirties. Even girls seem taller nowadays.

Do I simply notice taller people because they stand out (from my height perspective), or has this recent generation (born in the 1990s or even after the year 2000) gotten significantly taller on average?

Poor nutrition may prevent someone from reaching their otherwise natural genetic height, sure.

But no, I don't think nutrition in the developed world a few decades ago was that much different than today. Especially if 5'9 was once considered a normal height for healthy individuals. I do wonder if a generation of women greatly preferred taller-than-average men a decade or two ago, and now we're seeing increased height in their offspring.
