I've been thinking about getting corrective eye surgery. Tired of wearing eyeglasses.

I learned PRK is older and usually safer than the more common LASIK, LASEK as PRK doesn't leave a cornial flap, rather "shaves off" the old layer and lets it grow back in. Longer recovery time, better for someone with thinner corneas or heading into middle age.

On/off I've thought about it for the past few years. Recently heard about transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy (trans-PRK). Same thing, only with a much more precise computer-programmed laser as opposed to a surgeon removing the layer with a hand-held laser.

Anyone have experience with PRK or trans-PRK or even the other corrective surgeries? Any suggestions? Any positives, negatives?

Nothing from me.

But I would also want to look at this one for myself maybe in any possible future.

I thought some folks here have had some of these corrective eye surgeries. Nothing to add?
