can you think of something off the top of your head that is extremely tiring to ponder? or going in the other direction, i have found that if i fantasize about something very cherished, that also leads me back to sleep.

Just prop your head up on the bed, and read that thick book that you vowed to finish. The more you try to stay awake to read the book -the more impossible it will be to stay awake.

If that fails - get up and eat a hardy meal -that puts you into a food coma.
