Sausage Party, it doesn't even holm on it's own anti-theistic narrative. It's just stupid and crude.

at's ageist and sexist. I demand you watch Uwe Boll's Postal in which *only* children get shot.

also: yeah, except for the snuff part, this describes Lars von Trier's The House that Jack built - that one's actually good, not just silly like Postal. watch that one to overcome your ageism and sexism ^-^

I know right? The film was just as crazy as Postal 2. That's all I could ask for.

Any marvel/superhero movies.

Anything 'geeky' like James Bond or Star Trek.

Anything where a cat dies (cats dying in movies should be illegal, or any animal really...but mostly cats and maybe rodents too).

Avatar.

I can't deal with anything where people get sexual pleasure out of torturing/mutilating other people. Not for me.

I can do stupid, I can do crude. I like Gummo. I think that's a really interesting piece of cinema. I have no problem with people being artsy-fartsy or pretentious!

I also don't watch superhero movies, generally. I don't see the appeal at all. I do love 60s Batman though, not interested in the serious dark knight stuff.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it's definitely less of a Ghostbusters story and more of an action/comedy.

I've heard the extended cut is even better, but I haven't seen it.

Probably not a lot I would outright refuse to watch, but certainly quite a few I don't care to watch.

But I guess like if someone puts a movie on, then yeah I will watch it and see what I think...but yeah there are a lot of movies I probably would not watch unless someone else wanted to watch it with me. Like I don't care to see that human centipede movie...mostly because I think it would be largely boring. I mean so you sew a bunch of people mouth to butt...and then what the hell do you do with that monstrosity? it just flails around and then dies...like yeah I'd rather just watch Tusk again.

I forgot to list that one. I still remember the marketing and social media about this movie. "If you don't watch this film, then you're sexist."

Well then I really won't watch it...ever! I'm not gonna be threatened with stupid labels just because I have no interest in watching a film. I felt that that was just the beginning of the rise of wokeness in Hollywood and I do NOT like wokeness.

But grown men and ferocious animals are acceptable targets?

Not trying to be provocative by any means, but I'm pointing out a double standard.

So what are some movies that you refuse to see? Whether it's because they are poorly made or because they contain horrendously offensive content. There's no limit to having reasons to write off a particular film.

Here's my list:

Cannibal Holocaust
A Serbian film
The Human Centipede
Faces of Death
Cannibal Ferox
Ichi the Killer
I Spit on Your Grave
Salo: the 120 days of Sodom
Gummo
Any more movies made by Jason Friedberg & Aaron Seltzer
Any more movies made by Uwe Boll
Any more movies made by Michael Bay

Gummo feels out of place on this list. It's depressing, but I quite like it.

Ichi the Killer is so over the top, it's ridiculous. Miike at his best, if that's a thing you like...

Salo is very difficult, but I still think it should be watched. it's quite sober, as a film, and surprisingly un-exploitative for a film in which everyone's naked all the time...

From what I understand, it is a very disgusting film. Especially when you get to the circles of excrement and blood. Ugh!

I haven't seen most of the others... Cannibal Holocaust I've seen but can't remember anything about.
oh, and Uwe Boll's Postal is actually fun.

Postal had to be Boll's best film. Mostly for the fact it didn't take itself seriously. Plus there's no way it would ever get made today!

I know, right? Not to mention that it devolved into very LITERAL food porn! :eew:

So basically, any movie about the human cost of war? Especially if it involves nuclear holocaust?

I've seen all those except Barefoot Gen, and they are very bleak. :(

Neither do I! I am all for equity, social justice, and egalitarianism, but not to the point of condescending forcefulness or mass censorship.

Barefoot Gen is just as bleak; it's basically Grave of the Fireflies, but even more tragic and graphic, as it revolves around a boy who lost most of his family to an atomic bomb attack in WWII, and he, his mom, and his newborn sister try to adapt to life afterwards. Very depressing.

Yes, anything that involves nuclear war is nightmare fuel in my book.

This will get a sequel despite what the animators experienced during production. 8O

Hmm, I think I might like Human Centipede a little better than Tusk, but I've only seen Tusk once. They're both very similar, except Tusk is funnier (especially if you listen to the podcast where they dreamed it all up).

I've never read or watched any Harry Potter, and I wouldn't want to.

I saw a preview once and it showed kids playing football on broomsticks in the sky?

It looked really fake. I hate special effects, and I don't do fantasy.
