Why are killers' accounts removed only after on social media

Soooo... reddit might have banned over a hundred accounts of mine, right, and the worst thing I do is insult others... whereas, I noticed recently, they only removed an account of a serial killer after he did the deed... hundreds, if not thousands of posts, whereas most of my accounts rarely reach ten or so...

Insults are worse than murder then, yeah?

Because usually they haven't done anything against the ToS.

Sure, if spreading hate that eventually led to murder isn't against the TOS. Social media are all instigators. A child was gunned down because of reddit and youtube!

Well, from business perspective, yes, they are worse. Insults discourage people from participating, so less revenue. While murders very much encourage people to participate, so more revenue. I'd argue that social media would happily promote murders if they could get away with it :3

Reddit, Facebook, and even Wrongplanet, can only punish you for your behavior online. Not for your behavior offline in real life.

If Jefferey Daumer joins WP and only has polite conversations then there is nothing Alex and the mods will do about it, until AFTER the police find human body parts in his fridge.

But if you never hurt a fly, and you work for Mother Theresa doing charity for the poor in you offine life, but go into racist rants or sexist rants and bully other members on WP then they may ban you- because its your behavior on the website that is the issue in that case.

But sure, this is what this guy did, sexism specifically... and apparently a child needed to die because the loser couldn't get laid... and as much as he's to blame, social media was clearly a breeding ground for him and future killers. The shareholders have blood money.

When we had a member on this forum that went on a shooting spree, his account was also banned. This was back in 2005 or so.

When some guy in the UK got caught with sex crimes with underage, youtube terminated his account.

Also I think businesses and forum admins remove accounts after the user has commit a crime is to keep their platform going. It's to let the public know they do not tolerate such behavior and will not condone it.
