It uses piezoelectric bits* working with Mach Effect gravity to propel a space ship forward, potentially fast enough to reduce travel times to the nearest star systems to within one human lifetime.

It's a scam, used to generate income through crowdfunding.  One way to confirm this is to look for claims of a new "force" not predicted by modern science, or for some violation of a modern scientific principle.  For instance, the "scientists" claim that the piezo devices have an asymmetric vibrational moment.  This cannot happen without shattering the piezo devices.

This "something for nothing" concept is a key component of all the "perpetual motion" scams.

Besides, the fictional impulse engines in the Star Trek franchise were deuterium fusion reactors, using the same principles from real-world rocketry -- e.g., throwing mass out the back as fast as possible to drive the ship forward.  This real-world principle has nothing to do with the "Mega" device.
