Not quite sure where to post this - or where to find any specific studies regarding how people on the Autism Spectrum may have special interests related to news-media stories.

I'm attempting to draw parallels to the movie 'Rain Man' - where the 'Rain Man' character feels he must record, track events in his notebook he carried around. The 'Rain Man' character had also made metal notes of selected news-events.

What specific studies have pinpointed recording, monitoring, tracking behaviors stemming from the Autism Spectrum?

In regards to the news media, many people with the Autism Spectrum find it unnecessary to record news events to print - many similarities as to how NTs treat the news; that is to make mental notes on the gist of daily news, and to increasingly yearn for news-viewing which curbs sensationalism, junk-news, etc., etc. etc. e.g., MSNBC, PBS, and sometimes CNN can yield better quality news sources.

To refer to the purpose of this thread, we might ask ourselves why news-stories are conveyed here in the 'News And Current Events' forum?

WP member insights might just be like gold in specific studies regarding....interests in the news and the Autism Spectrum.
