Enjoy your music!

Where I work, in an old-time court building, the acoustics are excellent.

I've never lived in an apartment before...I'm afraid of really turning these things up. :)

If you can't hear every footstep of your fellow apartment dwellers, it's unlikely, unless you play your music REALLY loud, that they would hear you.

I've lived in apartments all my life.

I can hardly hear any movement from the other apartments. I guess I can turn it up a *little*. :)

Nice. Glad the speakers showed up. Have you cranked up the volume some to see how they do?

No...I don't want to disturb the neighbors. I hate confrontation. :(

Fair enough, and probably the decent thing to do. I recall living in an apartment building once with an upstairs neighbor who seemed clueless that anyone else lived in the building at all. She had zero idea what volume control was even at 10pm.

Give it a week or so...see if you can hear neighbors vacuuming. That might give you a better handle on what is or isn't too loud there. Unless, of course you're on the top floor...then everything would be more quiet to you than those below you. Is it a multi story place you're in?

It's 3 stories. The first floor is a restaurant. I'm on the second floor. I've noticed no noise from above me yet. I think I'll turn it up a bit and see if I can hear it in the hallway...

And so you should. 8O

I suggest you turn up the volume to the max at about 2 am in the morning, when no one is around.

I guess Steve could ask his immediate neighbours if they can hear the music.
Not my way to go, however.

Actually, I did before I became a hardcore hermit. 8)

I don't think the song meant it like that. At least that's not how I take it. I suppose I interpret it as disappearing from my kids lives...like if I'm not there all the time living with them...I'll slowly lose importance in their lives...slowly fade from their memories...

It wouldn't have occurred to me to go ask. Seems a pretty obvious solution there. Might be my own hermit tendencies creeping in.

Your above a restaurant? Have you checked the place out yet? Also, awesome that it's not noisy from that.

Could you hear the music from the hall?
