Because worrying about sexism on the other side of the planet
before worrying about sexism in your own back yard seems unproductive and hypocritical. Like criticizing your neighbor for letting their kids fight while your own kids are actively in the process of beating the tar out of each other at that very moment.
Also there's the fact that people do in fact complain about it quite a lot. Though I'm sure it's beneficial to ignore that regarding the perspective you're trying to push. But again, even if it were true, the answer would still be "Because I live HERE, and not THERE, and it seems wise to fix HERE before I worry about THERE, for a multitude of reasons."
