I hear a lot of people from the Blue States referring to the Red States as "hellholes" lately. But I happen to live in one of these hellholes myself. Can I just say something to these people as one American to all the others?

I know that as Americans our two worlds have always loved violence (rather it is through actual war or in movies/video games), we enjoy blaming each other with snarky zeal for our past mistakes that got us into the mess we are in today, and we always like to rebel against the 'opposite' side in authority just for the hell of it. But I have come to find that there is an even greater joy to be found whenever Americans occasionally come together to help each other out when all hope seems gone...

We are all facing a deadly pandemic right now and an enemy from within and from the outside who both seek nothing more than to have us tearing at each other's throats like rabid dogs in a pit fight. But you know? I see no reason why we can't all just work together to save your planet or ours.

i agree. on a small scale people can get together and love one another. i watched the movie "minari" today which is a "based on true story" tale about korean immigrants in arkansas in the early 80s who struggle to make a go of farming in america and had helpful non-racist neighbors who were very enlightened. it goes against all stereotypes of such a place. it was an escape from today's contention and divisiveness. if you have netflix i highly recommend watching this movie although it is a 4-hanky weeper. :( sad story with semi-happy ending.

I'll check it out one day. I could definitely use some more positive movies in my life to keep me from going into a downward spiral where I completely lose faith in humanity again. :wtg:

I guess my silly attempt at satire was trying to compare our red states and blue states to alien planets. At this point they may as well be lol :alien:

We have lots of conservatives in New York. And there are plenty of liberals in Georgia.

Satire or no, we should encourage people to meet from all corners of the country.

I don't think it's the regions, it's the people. Some places might be much more blue or red but overall America is purple.
Americans on the other hand seem to largely be blue or red and often carry a deep distrust of people wearing the other gang's colours.

Something that's interesting about this is this means that people from "blue" states are going to "red" states and taking their ideals with them, which will attract more people from the overcrowded "blue" states. "Red" states are going to just eventually end up with the same issues once there's enough people that move, and vote to implement more "blue" policies that attract even more people. That "fleeing" isn't as good for them as people from "red" states make it out to be.

Shortly After i posted 'here', i Visited A Catholic Church As i Do Each
Sunday to The 'Reddest Parts' We Have Locally And The Priest Went on

To Expose

How Some

Folks Still Don't

Yet of Course in the Most Deadly Part of the
Pandemic Where our Relatively Small Panhandle
County Leads Covid-19 Cases Amongst Unvaccinated
Unmasked Children With 800 of them infected and Over 800
Out Exposed As Well In Schools, the Church is Packed With Children
With No Social Distancing and a Handful of Mask Aware Protected Folks

Which is Really Insane As
The Church Operates Basically
Now Like There is No Pandemic
At All too... There Are Conservatives
And Liberals Wherever Folks Congregate,

Whether Democrat, Republican, Or Whatever...

Yet It's True With Conservation of Children's Health

Still at 61 Years of age...

Freedom Takes A Lot

Of Work And Is Always

As One is Willing to Assert Their True

The Earth Not Realizing They Are Dead inside Now...

i Know What that's

There are Much Much Better Places of

Life to

Autotelic Flow...

Heaven Home Within...

Yeah, don't count on that happening.

Ever heard the saying "East is East and West is West"?

My point was that just because a lot of people from the blue planet err I mean 'states' :alien: are migrating to the red states does not mean that they're going to be able to change the culture here to make the states more leftist and liberal friendly. Many people in the red states like the deep south and midwest will always be stuck in their ways.

It's like trying to change Confucianism in East Asia.

If I move to a “red” state, I won’t try to change the culture. I’ll just be me. If they don’t like it, tough nuggies :P

There’s lots of scenic places in the Appalachian Mountains where I wouldn’t mind buying me a little house. I wouldn’t mind making friends with my new neighbors, too.
