Prime Minister Scott Morrison flew from Canberra to Sydney and back over the weekend, which allowed him to see his family on Father's Day, after he was given an exemption to return.
Mr Morrison flew to Sydney on one of the Royal Australian Air Force's business jets on Friday afternoon.
He then returned to Canberra early on Monday morning to attend a national security meeting.

While NSW does not stop people from Canberra entering Sydney, ACT has closed its border with NSW, requiring those travelling back into the territory to be given an exemption by ACT Health.
Mr Morrison was granted a level three stay-at-home order, restricting his movements between The Lodge and Parliament House instead of the usual 14 days of self-isolation.
The prime minister did not mention the trip on social media, posting instead a photo taken earlier in the year of himself with his wife Jenny and two daughters.
