I read a response you did to another poster claiming the meme was aimed at caricaturing the far right so I was saying the far right in America are more diverse and more present at pro-Trump marches than you are willing to admit,

But now you are asking me to to get first hand experiences from right wingers? so which is it? right wingers must include literally millions of Americans. I've been lectured over the years on WP how diverse the right wing in America is and not to pigeonhole them so now I'm wondering why you are changing the goal posts?

I'm pretty sure (without living in the US although have visited 3 times) the "leave me alone" caricature of a far right/right person is going to be unrepresentative. The intent behind the meme is clear as night and day
antifa - bad aggressive dangerous
far right - tired, over it, wants to be left alone, wants live in peace, safe

Yup, a lot of people just want to be left alone, as someone with feet in both camps, this is what it feels like right now:

Image

If only that was true about the right. Full Frontal With Samantha Bee ran a story about trans women in Wyoming who had purchased their own ranch, and just wanted to be left alone. And then the right wingers came to the nearby town to parade with their "Don't Tread On Me" flags down the street, and explicitly calling for ending the rights for the local trans Americans who hadn't offended anyone but be trans. So frightened, they set up security cameras around their ranch, and it turns out that paranoia was justified. The cameras caught three heavily armed militia types creeping up on their ranch during the night. The trans women escorted them off their property at gunpoint. So, no, the right doesn't always just want to be left alone. And that's hardly the only case of conservatives wanting to shove their views down someone else' throat.

Keep in mind though, for transphobes there's often a tendency to treat trans-people's mere existence as an infringement on their rights so from their perspective it is still I just want to be left alone it's just that the expectations that define being left alone are unreasonable.

People justify their hate, even when that hate is irrational.

There is plenty of irrational hate on the left.

There will be a coup in America, for one.
All Republicans are fascist, for another.
Any criticism is racist is a third one that comes to mind.
There was an insurrection on the 6th, etc, etc. 8)

There was a coup/insurrection on the 6th, as that lynch mob had been trying to force congress into reversing the election. I don't see what else to call it.
Not all Republicans are fascists, by any means. It's just the Trump cultists who clearly are.
Any criticism is racist? Are you talking about Obama? Clearly, a great deal of it was, particularly when denying Obama was an American, or that he was a secret Muslim, two charges clearly based on his ethnicity on his father's side.

I think the origin of this myth stems from Obama's father converting from Catholicism to islam and his own name being muslim "Barak Hussein". Of course this means nothing as there's plenty African Americans who have muslim names who aren't muslim.

His stepfather Lolo Soetero was also muslim and there were claims the young Barak attended a madrasa (islamic school) while living in Indonesia. The latter is false,

Both his father and step-father never forced their children to follow religion and Barak is quite evidently christian as is his wife and children.

So ... is the September 18 "Rally" over yet, or is it still relevant?

It cannot be both.

It never was relevant accept as an attempt to get ratings for the news media.
